Steve King: If Reports Correct ‘Trump Base Is Blown Up, Destroyed, Irreparable’
Breitbart ^ | September 13 | Ian Mason

Posted on 09/14/2017 1:59:46 AM PDT by EliRoom8

King tweeted the following after the Associated Press (AP) and other outlets reported that the president told Democrats he wanted a “quick” amnesty for the 800,000 plus illegal aliens he acted to removed protections from on September 5:

Steve King @RealDonaldTrump If AP is correct, Trump base is blown up, destroyed, irreparable, and disillusioned beyond repair. No promise is credible.

King, a long-time immigration hawk, told Breitbart News Washington political editor Matt Boyle that an amnesty move like the one onto which Trump reportedly signed Wednesday was “Republican suicide.” That assessment came just after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the administration’s decision to keep a major election campaign promise and phase out President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) executive order. “It was a clear campaign promise,” King said at the time, referring to an immediate end to the program upon Trump’s taking office.

The key word is “if” Trump buckles to comprehensive illegal alien amnesty

He buckled.

DACA is a ‘religious’ faith based charity.. ending DACA would mean a big profit loss to religious orders who are funded billions of tax payer dollars in human trafficking.

No bill has been signed.
A Trump tweet is NOT a bill or policy.

I will wait to see what shakes out.

Then I will either break out a pitchfork
or a bottle of wine, depending on the
outcome.

No, you idiot—I supported Trump back in the primaries.

But yes, I’ve been sounding the alarm here for months as he has hired liberal NY Dems, neocons and Never Trump GOPe operatives. Let them in turn keep and squeeze out any staffers loyal to Trump and his agenda. This week they even forced his personal bodyguard out.

He has humored Jivanka who have had an aggressive liberal agenda from day one, and now we see the fruits of all that.

Immigration is the issue that he won the nomination on and now he has done a 180, betraying our base and the country.

A mutual understanding? Exultation from Schumer and Nancy after “breaking bread” with Sir Donald. But, no, they were just confused?

800,000 dreamers = GOOD! EDUCATED! ACCOMPLISHED! Then, bring in their families, by all means!

And we’ll be getting “wall renovation!!!!” Does that include fresh paint??

I want to see the illegal alien “kids” put on top of box cars, heading south. They can be sent home the way they came in.

Same here, not upset at all! He’s doing his thing as best he can. The GOP is blocking him so he has to find a way around them. The best advice for everyone here is to not believe anything you read in the press, wait for HIS WORDS and also realize that he takes certain positions to negotiate.

Ryan and McConnell will write legislation for a complete border wall security system, and they will write also that some dreamers SOME will be eligible to stay.

There are many liars among Dreamers. They were not brought as children, they have not been in the USA for as long as they claim, etc. When the legislation gets signed, there will be a thousand ways to deny applications based on lack of documentation, bad faith.

The President will keep his promise on border security. The President said in his campaign that he would have to have a CLOSE LOOK at the Dreamer situation meaning it;s case by case. There will be no blanket amnesty for 800,000 persons.

The President is negotiating from a position of strength. Pelosi-Schumer can fantasize they made the President buckle but the reality is different and between now and 2018 midterms, the reality will become clear that we got massive border security and we allowed SOME Dreamers to stay in the US.

The NeverTrumpers and Cruzlims are salivating at more fake news.

I think the NeverTrumpers like Kristoll, Frum, Navarro, etc. are cheering that this deal is “in process.”

“Cruzlims”(???) Could you fill me in on that monicker? And I think they’d be polar opposite to NeverTrumpers regarding this and other issues. I don’t know since up until recently I’ve been an ardent supporter of Sir Donald. But exiling Bannon, Gorka, McFarland, etc. gave me pause to ask WTH?

We need a closed border; not a 8 year in the works wall.

If we were serious; the border would already be closed.
A wall is not needed to close the border. We should have had resources down there a week after Trump was in office and closed it.

We wouldn’t have issues like DACA if our border was closed.

Many of these DACA folks came here as kids as I understand it.
Its questionable logic to send a kid back to Guatemala who has been here since age 2 and has built a successful career or business here.
But again; they will keep coming long as the border is open.

Many people want the cheap labor that an open border brings. That’s why we haven’t closed it.

I’m ok with legalizing DACA as long as the wall gets built.

The wall has to get built. Legalizing any of these people only builds a yet stronger magnet bringing more of them in.

Sadly, you can’t trust a politician when he calls for “stronger” border security if anyone who gets past border security gets amnesty.

So, build the wall. If they do legalize DACA, they need a provision that any felons among them get booted anyway without a lot of legal heartburn.
