King tweeted the following after the Associated Press (AP) and other outlets reported that the president told Democrats he wanted a “quick” amnesty for the 800,000 plus illegal aliens he acted to removed protections from on September 5:
Steve King @RealDonaldTrump If AP is correct, Trump base is blown up, destroyed, irreparable, and disillusioned beyond repair. No promise is credible.
King, a long-time immigration hawk, told Breitbart News Washington political editor Matt Boyle that an amnesty move like the one onto which Trump reportedly signed Wednesday was “Republican suicide.” That assessment came just after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the administration’s decision to keep a major election campaign promise and phase out President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) executive order. “It was a clear campaign promise,” King said at the time, referring to an immediate end to the program upon Trump’s taking office.

That fact alone is very very disturbing.
You’re absolutely right, it wouldn’t surprise me if a little research didn’t turn up evidence that most of these whiners are hard Lefty’s sitting in a college dorm or in their mother’s basement. Anyone that would accept Nancy Pelosi’s or Chuck Schumer’s word over Donald Trump has to be suspect.

Nothing is irreparable; the Trump base will always be here. Even 1861-1865 was not an irreparable breach in America, and President Trump betraying the American people (if - big IF - these “reports” are true) would not lead to problems much worse than in that crisis.
IF this is true...I won’t believe anything until Trump himself admits it. But if true, then Steve King is right.

The WH dispute is the vague one. I also go with Jack P’s sources on this—it is supposedly a clean DACA deal, with the only agreement on the wall is to address it later.
Of course I’d be thrilled if that is wrong, but he’s gone full Democrat of late.
Going into to Trump’s Nov 2016 victory, we had a diverse base of supporters with shared interests. And the GOP-e is sabotaging it... its destructive intent is clear.

As a practical matter, we are never going to deport legit kids who have spent their lives here
If Trump gets
Restricted only to current DACA enrolled
End to chain immigration for extended families
No welfare for 10 years
End to birthright citizenship
Must remain employed
No criminal convictions . If ever arrested and convicted in future they get deported
Pay back taxes on the income they have claimed
Speak English
Graduated from high school ( no GED)
Pays $5000 for extremely thorough background check
DACA is 50% or more fraud so background checks will eliminate several hundred thousand DACA fraudsters, limiting the number of people eligible for relief
Caveat: we have the most partisan, lying and corrupt media of any 1st world country, but I’m done with Trump if he amnetizes “dreamers” without securing the wall.

What kind of "Adult" is incapable of traveling to a foreign country. One where they speak the language (Spanish), and have relatives. These aren't "Dreamers," these are Mexican "Snowflakes!"

She believes we are stupid enough to believe this. I think her statement highlights the contempt the left (well, all of the ruling elites) have for the middle class.
I see more of the middle class waking up to what the democrats are doing than Trump’s base turning.
