I don’t deny that Starbucks drinks are very tasty. :) Never tried a Caramel Machiato; I will have to do so! :)

My sister, though, buys a $10 coffee every morning in their drive-through.

I wish I had thought of Starbucks...talk about being set for life. :)

Take care, FRiend. I should get to sleep. My dog started barking and of course I turned on the computer after I let her out. Such is the life of a FReeper. LOL!

Slightly OT, but: How do they actually know how many people are watching? Are these estimates? Don’t believe there is anyway they can track who is watching via rooftop antenna (if anyone still does that), but does satellite tv and cable tv log who is watching what?

4. The announcers constantly yammer about stuff that has nothing to do with the game. They even keep yammering during plays.

I used to be able to watch the TV with the sound off and listen to the game on a local FM station. Radio announcers have to be more focused on the game because listeners can’t see what’s happening. The local station even advertised itself as a superior alternative to TV sound.

But no longer-to placate their advertisers, the NFL mandated a delay that destroys the synchronization.

One time fans of other teams, like me, are gravitating to the Cowboys and Jerry Jones because he won’t put up with this kneeling crap.

We all know why. Last year it was the Olympics and the election. This year it was the hurricane and another distraction that is about to hit. Next year? Something new. The one thing we are sure of is that it has nothing to do with pampered, ungrateful players being disrespectful to our flag, our anthem, and our country, or rude to the fans.

>>But invariably, when I turn on the station, I see an infobabe wth a short skirt and high heels prattling on.<<

It’s very patronizing and condescending to the male audience as well.

If the game was played by a nothing but a bunch of white guys the NFL would be finished. SJW and the Concussion Syndrome mob would finish them off.

Ditto....no more NFL in my house after loving the games for over 50 years. The NFL can rot in hell.

I can't and don't want to get past the kneeling. I was already fed up with the silly pink ribbons for breast cancer. It's a distraction that has no place in the NFL narrative, especially during the game. The kneeling is a distraction and it's an employee/employer issue. The NFL used to stand for respect of USA values and culture. The kneeling is totally unacceptable when it's part of the presentation of the game.

It NEVER should've been allowed. Kaepernik should've been taken out of that game and suspended for at least three more. People and organizations often show their true colors when they have to make quick decisions. For the NFL and for the coach that day, the colors weren't red, white, and blue, and the reaction showed a total disdain for their fan base. Now the NFL has waited so long to stop it they've probably lost control of the ability to do so.

Sorry, but Kaeperdick is not smart enough to handle a job at McDonald’s even with the smart cash registers :-)

HMMMM Cowboys and Giants don’t allow any kaepernicking and their game was at least on the plus side = +2. Other kaepernicking nests getting choked to death hmmmm.

Even with the losses in viewership the NFL is still the biggest spectator sport in the US. They have a big chunk of their fan base based on gambling which I assume doesn’t care about any of the issues discussed here. That said these losses cannot help the bottom line for the NFL. The NFL won’t die but clearly if the losses mount the cash cow aspect is going to end. The only certain change is that the NFL will be poorer in the future. I will be curious as to how game attendance is because those are the most dedicated fans who shell out big bucks of their own money. Las Vegas book totals would also be another interesting stat to look at.

Just like in the Soviet Union the NFL claims bad weather is the culprit.

It will be interesting to see how the league and its billionaire owners respond to these horrible numbers. Political correctness vs. Profit.

That’s a pretty sound hypothesis - but the more the NFL depends on the Vegas viewer the more the incentive for “Black Sox”-type manipulation of the game increases. And if any major cheating or game-throwing scandal is ever detected, the gambling crowd will start to back away pronto.

Normal people are assaulted by political influences the whole day - in what they hear from their kids in school, in what they see on TV, in the way the news gets spun, etc, etc. If they watch sports, they want to get away from that crap, and once that crap invades their sports, franchise owners should not be surprised when they say “screw it” to the NFL.

I’m not sure (I’m not boycotting the NFL, I was just never much of a fan anyway), but I don’t think any Giants or Cowboys have caused any issues with the national anthem.
