According to the complaint she told officers its all my fault and that she didnt want her brother to get in trouble.
She asked police to book her, telling detectives:
So, I dont care, he raped my daughter ... she told me everything.
Her hands also tested positive for gunshot residue, according to the complaint.
Serbus daughter reportedly told her mother over Memorial Day weekend in 2016 that Sierra sexually assaulted her on two separate occasions several years prior when she was just six years old.
Police said Serbu often talked to friends and other witnesses about wanting to kill the 18-year-old.
A friend of Serbus urged her to bring it to the police instead of taking things into her own hands, but it appears the mother had been planning the attack for months.
She allegedly told her husband in May that she was going to do something and that he would have to raise her children alone, according to the Naples Daily News.
Serbu was served an arrest warrant Aug. 25 for second-degree murder.

While I believe the girl is telling the truth, at least basically, I think she definitely should have gone to the police about it first. Because she still could have done what she did afterward had they done nothing. So why not at least it it a shot. Could potentially have spared a lot of grief. She lost a brother, will likely spend many years in prison, and the young daughter she cared so much about won't have her mother around to help raise her.
That means the dead 18 year old was 10 or 11 at the time of the “rape”, give me an effing break, guilty
Trial by jury! This woman did a great service to her community!!! I would happily be on her jury as well!
Left her daughter with her father. The child has not been abandoned.
The daughter told the mother in 2016 that the rape had occurred “several” years ago. The alleged rapist was 18 at the time of death. So, assuming several to mean 3, maybe 4, he was somewhere between 13 or 14.
This is second hand reporting. I’m not saying the child lied. I’m saying the mother is lying about what the child told her. There’s a lot to this story that stinks to high heaven. Her brother was killed by a gunshot, but the murder victim had no gun.
And come on, a six year old may miscommunicate. I know a girl who was asked by her mom “does your dad touch you?” Thinking just innocent thoughts like kids do she said “Daddy touches me all the time.” The mom left took the kids and never spoke to the father again. Years later the daughter found out why her mom did that and she told her mom that the dad never molested her, she just meant yea he touches me because he’s my dad she didn’t mean in a sexual way.
So yea, and also that case in California that the kids were led on to say what the investigators wanted.
But there’s nothing about investigators speaking to the child. Just the mom saying this and saying that. The mom was already in jail when she was charged with murder. Apparently.
It all stinks.
Murder is murder and anyone who thinks its okay to murder anyone in cold blood just for one accusation has hatred in their heart, it’s like some people here enjoy it. I find it appalling. But that’s just me.
Why do you go straight to believing he raped the girl? There’s zero evidence that the mom is even telling the truth. Nothing to indicate the cops even spoke to the girl.
Murder is murder. The kid was only 12 at the time the rape allegedly occured, and the girl waited 6 years to tell her mom? Lol. okay.
Yep. Add to the fact that the daughter has not told anyone but the mother about the alleged rape. Just the mom saying the daughter told her about it. Then she goes off with her brother, 2 guns, plastic bags, ice picks, and other tools for murder. Tells people for months she is going to murder a guy that just turned 18 and graduated high school. Then takes her mentally retarded brother with her, somehow the 18 year old kills the brother but the 18 year old had no weapon. Also she was already in jail when they charged her with murder. What? Come on.
This stinks to high heaven. Anyone saying mother of the year or not guilty either is sick or just read headline and has a knee-jerk reaction.
“....reportedly had been threatening to kill her.”
Anyone that threatens to kill me or mine will be in for a very short and loud response. I take bodily harm threats very seriously.
Visit the range everyday maintain that gunshot residue level.
Were i on the jury i would vote innocent.
I would want to see evidence and hear testimony regarding the rape. If her story is true, I imagine the jury will do the right thing, regardless of the judge’s instructions.
it says the daughter was 6, now she is 13, do the effing math
That case was predicated on corrupt social workers coaching kids to lie. A young child telling their parent about a sexual assault is a completely different ballgame. Odds are very high that a child alone is telling the truth; those odds drop exponentially once any state agent is involved.
That was a mistake on my part. It was the mother who had been threatening to murder the guy. I corrected myself soon after.
Got it. Thanks.
“... This appears to be a Crime of Passion .... The Courts will more than likely respond accordingly.”
Too much planning, imo.
Also probably no evidence of the sexual assaults other than the word of the child.
If the crime did,in fact, occur I'm not sure that when it occurred matters much.As for the accuracy/truthfulness of the girl's claims that's certainly a legitimate issue. There certainly *are* guys (more than a few,in fact) who do despicable things to little girls (and boys). And I suspect that there are little girls (and boys) who fabricate stories for any one of a hundred different reasons.
1) I was referring to the age of the alleged rapist at the time of the alleged crime.
You wrote: "That means the dead 18 year old was 10 or 11 at the time of the rape, give me an effing break, guilty"
I responded...
"The daughter told the mother in 2016 that the rape had occurred several years ago. The alleged rapist was 18 at the time of (his) death. So, assuming several to mean 3, maybe 4, he was somewhere between 13 or 14."
2) Where does it say anywhere that the crime occurred 'seven' years ago? (to make her now 13)
Someone commenting above misread and said "seven", when the excerpt actually said "several", which to me means 3, maybe 4 (years prior to 2016).
In other words, 2012 or 2013. And if she was 6 in 2013, she is now "effing" 10, not "effing" 13.
From the main article:
"Serbus daughter reportedly told her mother over Memorial Day weekend in 2016 that Sierra sexually assaulted her on two separate occasions several years prior when she was just six years old."
You: "it says the daughter was 6, now she is 13, do the effing math"
seven years ago the boy was 11
Yes, I agree. The odds are good that the daughter was/is telling the truth. However, stranger things have happened, and just about anything, based on the little we know now, could have actually taken place. Could even be that the young girl had a crush on him and he rejected her. Who knows at this point. In any case, IMO, there was reason-enough for the police to have at least questioned the now 18-year-old guy about it. Odds would have been great that he would have slipped up and they would have gotten the truth out of him, if he in fact did commit the crime.
