25 Key Quotes from Steve Bannons 60 Minutes Interview
Joel B. Pollak
On Sunday, September 10, Breitbart News executive chairman and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon appeared on CBS News 60 Minutes for his first television interview. The following are 25 key quotes, both from the main interview and overtime.
1. The Republican establishment is trying to nullify the 2016 election. Thats a brutal fact we have to face.
2. Mitch McConnell when we first met him he basically says, dont want to hear any more of this drain the swamp talk.
3. In the 48 hours after we won, theres a fundamental decision that was made. You might call it the original sin of the administration. We embraced the establishment. Because you had to staff a government.
4. The plan was to do Obamacare because, remember, Paul Ryan and these guys come in and said, Weve done this for seven years. Weve voted on this 50 times. There is wide discrepancy in the Republican Party, as we know today, now that were in it. But I will tell you, leadership didnt know it at the time. They didnt know it till the very end.
5. Im worried about losing the House now because of this of because of DACA it will be a civil war inside the Republican party that will be every bit as vitriolic as 2013.
6. You couldnt be more dead wrong [about immigration]. America was built on her citizens............

Finally, McConnel and Ryan are getting some real push back from our side. This game has gone on long enough! We are in the midst of a realignment, and a pinch of Bannon is a healthy accelerant.
But, I heard Joe Biden is going to run in 2020. /s
One of my favorites:
12. I dont need to be lecturedby a bunch of by a bunch of limousine liberals, okay, from the Upper East Side of New York and from the Hamptons, okay, about any of this. My lived experience is that.
Too good.

Stephen Colbert returned to duty hosting The Late Show this week after a two-week vacation, as TruthRevolt noted yesterday, and launched into a typically juvenile and unfunny monologue pushing the left’s SOP (Standard Operating Propaganda) line that President Trump and his former advisor Steve Bannon are Nazis

Steve Bannon on the Admins Original Sin We Totally Embraced the Establishment

House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell are fighting the Presidents agenda and foremost among the Presidents goals was to drain the swamp. They ended the movement to do so.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said in one of the first meetings in Trump Tower, I dont want to hear any more of this drain the swamp talk. From day one, he wanted Trump to back off.
McConnell also complained about the swamp language in terms of hiring, arguing that he was having a difficult time convincing the right people to take government jobs in D.C. and on Capitol Hill because of the pay, reporting requirements, and scrutiny.
Right now, the problem as Bannon described it is there is no accountability. The establishment is not supporting the Presidents agenda. Its no secret, everybody knows it, he said.
The establishment does not want the Presidents populist agenda. In order to form the government, the drive by the administration to drain the swamp was ended.
In the 48 hours after we won, theres a fundamental decision that was made, Bannon said to Charlie Rose in a 60 Minutes interview. You might call it the original sin of the administration. We embraced the establishment. I mean, we totally embraced the establishment.
Bannon said many of the people that had staffed the backbone of the campaign including himself comprised an island of misfit toys. So he looks around and Im wearin my combat jacket, I havent shaved, I got you know, my hairs down to here, and he says hes hes thinkin, Hey, Ive gotta put together a government. Ive gotta really staff up somethin. I need to embrace the establishment.
Bannon told Rose that the task of draining the swamp was a bigger accomplishment than any one administration could pull off, predicting it would 15-20 years of relentlessly going after it.

I loved that part.

What he’s active duty military on deployment?
Mockers and scoffers have fallen on hard times, with Maher and Colbert as their “comic” leaders. Both are about as deep as a thimble, and NOT FUNNY!
WATCH: Photographer Explains How CBS Uses Color Adjustments To Make Steve Bannon Look Bad On 60 Minutes
by Joshua Caplan
Following Steve Bannons highly anticipated interview with Charlie Rose on 60 Minutes Sunday night, professional photographer Peter Duke published a video explainer on how CBS may have used color adjustments to make the Breitbart News boss look bad on television.
It seems like 60 minutes would like you to listen less and look more at Steve Bannon. By subtly tweaking the color of the video, they make him look like a bleary-eyed drunk. I show you how they did it, writes Duke on the videos YouTube page.
Peter Duke has photographed Milo Yiannopoulos, Scott Adams and James OKeefe.
In the video, Duke explains how CBS color adjusted Bannons shots to make his eyes and lips red by increasing the level of saturation. This results in curtains that are a brighter orange behind Bannon than they are in Charlie Roses shot. Roses shot was made cooler, to make the hosts make-up more subtle.

Thanks, KeyLargo.
This is not at all surprising. Typical 60 Minutes/Lib Media tactic.
I saw the video of the interview posted here and I didn’t think Bannon looked bad but I wasn’t concentrated on what he looked like.
The 'swamp' wasn't built in a day and it will take a long time to 'drain' it. Given the fecklessness of the average voter, I don't think the political will is there for the long haul effort it will take, unfortunately. I am afraid more drastic measures will be required.
LIMOUSINE LIBERALS...I love hearing a descriptive phrase that nails it.
That’s right. And Charlie Rose knew he was included.
hmmm. Bannon needs to keep it alive. Make a permanent link on the Breitbart site called Breitbart Swamp Drain with links to elections and articles on how the people can take back their government CONSTITUTIONALLY.
This is a great article.
Bannon is a top notch strategist, still fully loyal to the original Trump movement, yet brutally honest about some mistakes made in the early days following the inauguration, and how they impacted the formation of the cabinet team.
I’m about as pro Trump as they come - almost a 4D chess guy.
But I think Bannon’s comments - about Trump “embracing the establishment” too much - ring true. There are some people on his team that don’t want to drain the swamp.
I hope Trump reads Bannon’s comments and takes them to heart, and cleans house. The swamp needs to be drained and 15 years is not soon enough.
Go Trump!
That wart on his upper left cheek. He should have it cut out. Wouldn’t do much though. They tried to make him look like a swashbuckling drunk. More on the ‘20 years’ remark on my next post.
Maybe it will be made into a blockbuster movie. If only Margaret Hamilton were still around to play Hillary.
