When he snarkily told those opposed to his proposed amnesty for illegals (”immigration reform”) that he would “see them at the bill signing,” I started to think ill of GWB. His behavior toward Trump completed the job of revealing his true colors.
In time, I've moderated my views. I now see his first term as a disaster for America too. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq with no real plan for what to do when we won have been a real mess, and in fact there was no real need to go to war with Iraq in the first place. It was distraction. Once I learned from previously classified sources that were released to the public that the Bush admin was working overtime protecting the Saudis from their clear complicitness in 9/11, I determined that Iraq was just a distraction to keep us from looking their way.
And since then, his people have done nothing but praise the left and denigrate people like me at every possible opportunity. It's clear where they truly stand. I now have very little good to say about any of the Bushes or their acolytes.
GWB had shown his true colors as early as 1994.
That was the year that grassroots California passed Prop 187, the anti illegal immigration bill, in defiance of the elites in the GOP, the MSM, and the Democrats.
A number of GOP establishment traitors flew out to California to side with illegal aliens against California’s beleaguered voters- and that treason lobby group included Jack Kemp, Bill Bennett, and the then governor of Texas, GW Bush.
Only those of us in California fighting the illegal alien battle at that early date noticed. And remembered.
After that, nothing that W did that put the interests of Americans last ever surprised me. It’s what I expected from him.
