After settling allegations that it unlawfully detained black customers, Macy’s is now picking on Asians, according to a lawsuit filed by four former employees of the company’s flagship store in Herald Square.
Managers in the cosmetics and fragrance department of Macy’s flagship store “repeatedly directed … sales associates to racially profile customers of Asian descent” out of fear that they were secretly black marketers, according to a Manhattan federal lawsuit.

It’s not like Macy’s sold this stuff that cheaply anyway!
I guess I miss the point - if the Asians buy stuff from their store, what do they care about what those Asians do with it. It’s not like the situation with black customers.

Why does it matter if they resell it?
Another Amazon customer is born.
Comparing Asians to Africans is like comparing apples to crustaceans. I know people that worked for Dillards. Africans were the demographic most likely to steal. The cameras and staff proved it a 100 to 1 over the nearest competitor. Notice what demographic is leading the looting rampage in the hurricane areas.

It is far easier to make fake stuff in Asia and counterfeit the jars an labels.
Buying over the counter one at a time and exporting and then expecting to make a profit is unlikely
There’s a difference between shoplifting and organized retail crime. I can’t find any stats on race or ethnicity for the latter. That info might explain a lot.
As someone with some security background, I think it’s important to note that security policies generally result from observations and statistics.
That stated, this story is nothing but a representation of continued defective public policy to erase all bias on the basis of color while completely ignorant of the statistics themselves.
The Portland gang database story is but one example of this trend.
Truth is a tough nut to crack. This is why progressives make it up as they go.
Is this another case of mere “disparate impact” where the only implication of discrimination is just the facts - that statistically one demographic group or another has a higher or lower number of cases?
Could it possibly be, for some unaccountable reasons more of the perps actually happen to come from some demographic groups more than others?
No. Why? Because “diversity” rules REQUIRE than all things ONLY occur, NATURALLY, in demographic relationships that are completely proportionate to each demographic group’s proportion of the general population. ANYTHING ELSE MUST BE due to some kind of discrimination. Right? /sarc
