At least 8 killed after shooting at Plano (Texas) home, suspect is dead

Plano Police are investigating a gruesome scene at a single family home on West Spring Creek Pkwy., where investigators say 8 people have been shot to death.

Police don't know what the disturbance was about or how the people in the home knew each other.

A Plano officer shot and killed the suspect. It's unclear if that suspect is one of the 8 people reported dead.

Looks like this is the deadliest mass-shooting in the US so far this year, tied with the incident earlier this year in Mississippi. Sad.

I think there were eight victims in that shooting in southern Ohio. I never heard that they caught the perp(s), and the victims were all related, living along a rural road.

2016 Pike County, Ohio, shootings. Still unsolved.

Some members of the victim family were involved in criminal activity.

IMHO I think it was an organized crime hit, probably Mexican mafia. The killings went off with military precision and a number of the victims were shot multiple times. Some family members did have a grow operation (Marijuana) and I think they may have stepped on some toes by not greasing palms.

the case in Ohio is heating up and the cops have some people of interest....it appears that mass murder was drug related..

I hope they have something after all this time. Probably was drug related. Horrible the uptick in these mass killings.

Plano earned the title of Heroin Capital Of The US a few years back. They’ve been trying to deal with the problem, but there’s more than a bit of sketchiness in the vast ‘house farms’. Sometimes the first sign you have that your neighbor in Plano deals in the stuff is a shooting like this.

The heroin pretty much died out when the Dallas Cowboy od’ed. Back before heroin, it was high school suicide.

I do remember a discussion on NextDoor a few weeks ago about a drug house (they even gave the exact street address) not far from that one.

The address was for an unrelated drug house. I google mapped it at the time, but don’t recall what is was.
