The entire Florida Peninsula and points north are poised to experience Hurricane Irma after the storm hugged Cuba's northern coastline. Thousands of Floridians who evacuated the Atlantic cost to Gulf Coast areas found their safe shelter under direct threat from Hurricane Irma as the forecast shifted W Friday night and Saturday. Hurricane Irma's prolonged interaction with Cuba diminished its strength to Category 3.
Irma is forecast to increase in strength as it crosses the FL Straits. The Florida Keys experienced strong outer bands while Irma grazed the N Cuba coastline.

ok, that makes sense. I can’t see any local weather reporter or meteorologist getting away with saying that about global warming without getting canned without even a warning. Go Joe Bastardi. I wish they were all a bit more like him.
FOX Abby Huntsman was saying this morning her grandmother, on oxygen and living alone, is remaining in Tampa. Her daddy was governor of Utah and was ambassador of China, Singapore and up for Russia. He was born in 1960 and both parents are still alive. I'm guessing this grandma is her mother's mother who was born in 1961 so must be at least late 70s. Alone and on oxygen and will likely lose power.

Wind from the east pushing water out is a good thing for the west coast. Hopefully the track will continue N to allow that.

I didn’t say I was in favor of destruction. There’s always hope, and I tend to look for the light at the end of the tunnel. Civilization will bounce back, and this hurricane is not going to stop that. What a distortion.
