The entire Florida Peninsula and points north are poised to experience Hurricane Irma after the storm hugged Cuba's northern coastline. Thousands of Floridians who evacuated the Atlantic cost to Gulf Coast areas found their safe shelter under direct threat from Hurricane Irma as the forecast shifted W Friday night and Saturday. Hurricane Irma's prolonged interaction with Cuba diminished its strength to Category 3.
Irma is forecast to increase in strength as it crosses the FL Straits. The Florida Keys experienced strong outer bands while Irma grazed the N Cuba coastline.

Where are you rodguy?
I’ve seen you around quite a bit.
Thanks for that, seems up to ten thousand stayed.I don’t know if that number is hard or not but I heard it a few times.
Look at the pressure drop, 925 now, versus Barbuda peak (914 mb) and Cuban low around 940.
Two Tornado Warnings, at least 3 waterspouts, many mesos so far.
Your peak surge looks to be on the back eyewall, not out front.
I know that Gov. Scott had police escorts for some tanker trucks,he thinks so fast and so well there is little he misses.
I’m in the Villages right now with friends. But I live in Tavernier work in Islamorada.
I read earlier Cubans weren’t even told the storm was coming.
No telling what that place will look like after this.
Key West about to get a direct hit. :-(
HA!
Well, I’m a good guy up here in Concord. I hope everything is going well. Take care of each other. :^)
I’ve been through Tonopah. Kind of a funny little town. The building where the Mizpah is located was once the tallest building in Nevada — built during the gold boom. It has recently been restored and has a fairly nice restaurant.
New tornado warning between Melbourne and Sebastian, moving WNW at 35 mph, radar indicated.
Ignorance is bliss. Politics aside, were homes built for this? Or, easily rebuilt. Interesting juxaposition of US fearmongering and Cuban silence. Silence is relative as I bet people were aware and didn’t need the government spoon feeding them fear and orders. What happened when Cuba might be more respectful than US?
That Melbourne tornado warning is 250 miles from eye center.
That is so cool.
That place was hell on earth.
I have my own PWS on Weatherunderground and use it to look at conditions. Appears most of those sites in the Keys are not online anymore, those that are are showing 65-75 mph gusts. If you zoom out, they have updated Irma’s position on the map, now approaching Key West.
Yeah read the same thing over at AT. Clarice has some stuff on that, the Castro bros.(castro inc.) run things over there much like hillary/deep state do here. Mob style.
Thanks very much! Freepers are the best no question.
My time was 28 years ago. They made a new one called the Station House. I would just play 21 for free all night.
There is a time where you never lose. I didn’t need to know that.

Watching an ABC feed. Kenny Chesney had a place destroyed by Irma on one of the small islands in the last couple days. Said he had windows supposedly capable of handling 200 mph winds that were blown out. His home was being used as a shelter by 20 people and blown down.
Read her 10,000+ stayed in the Keys. Prayers for those folks. Irma is a beast. Looks like it’s headed for Ft. Meyers.
My radar is pathetic what is a good site for key west/lower keys radar?
