The entire Florida Peninsula and points north are poised to experience Hurricane Irma after the storm hugged Cuba's northern coastline. Thousands of Floridians who evacuated the Atlantic cost to Gulf Coast areas found their safe shelter under direct threat from Hurricane Irma as the forecast shifted W Friday night and Saturday. Hurricane Irma's prolonged interaction with Cuba diminished its strength to Category 3.
Irma is forecast to increase in strength as it crosses the FL Straits. The Florida Keys experienced strong outer bands while Irma grazed the N Cuba coastline.

Will US Highway 1 from Miami to Key West (also known as the Overseas Highway) survive intact? If a storm surge takes out one or more of the bridges, it may take weeks or months before the highway is open to traffic. They’d rig up a temporary ferry of some kind, I’m sure, but that couldn’t be done overnight. The economic impact on the Keys west of any break would be immense.
The Overseas Highway was built on the railway right of way and bridge abutments used by the Florida East Coast Railway before it was wiped out by the 1935 hurricane. Will history repeat itself?

About the tape on the windows. The tape will actually strengthen the glass and allow it to receive much more pressure than without it.
The open window scenario, when a sudden drop in pressure happens, like a tornado, you can have as much as a 1 pound of pressure drop in a matter of seconds accompanied by high winds. That one pound drop in pressure can actually loosen the nails holding boards together in a structure if everything is closed up, an open window or door can help prevent that.

Looters, particularly in natural disaster situations, are the lowest form of life. The actions of people in times like this often reveal their truest selves. The looters should be publicly shamed as that sheriff is doing!

Questions always use eyebrows down for *w* questions and yes/no questions, eyebrows up, just for starters.
Eyebrows are also raised to denote the topic of the sentence.
ASL is a very expressive language as that is the only way to communicate feeling, intensity, distance, time passage, etc.
Half the message would be lost without the facial expressions. Sometimes the meaning of something changes completely with a simple change of facial expression.
There are bigger fish to fry with this storm than criticizing the use of a language you don’t understand to begin with.

Now you have me worried. I remember Hurricane Opal in 1995. 4,000 trees were knocked down in Atlanta. Alot of power outages.
