US electronics retailer Best Buy has stopped selling products by leading computer security firm Kaspersky Lab amid concerns the company has links to Russian intelligence, the two companies confirmed Friday. The big box retailer, with stores across the country, did not announce the change itself but its website was no longer offering Kaspersky products. A Best Buy spokeswoman confirmed in an email reports that the action was taken due to concerns over Kaspersky's alleged links to the Russian government.

Do they still sell movies that were influenced by Red filmmakers in Hollywood with membership in Communist cells directed by Russia?

Best Buy is such a sleazy company, I can’t believe they’d care. I’m sure they still sell McAfee products, right? It’s more likely that Best Buy tried to shake down Kaspersky and they told Best Buy to go take a hike.

With all the options available at every price point, why would anyone go with Kaspersky?

Oh and BTW: Equifax, your bank, and the US Government are more of a “security threat” to an American citizen than Kaspersky AV could ever be.

I am deeply saddened to trust the Russian government more than my own.

I think that's changing, but...

The top tier AV companies are close enough to each other that there is no need to take a risk with a Russian company. I know the headaches associated with Symantec and MacAfee all too well, but other companies like Trend Micro make a great product without the trust issue.

You’re talking about the same McAfee that hired eastern bloc hackers to write viruses for them to help antivirus sales right? They’re not criminals , they’re not sleazy.
