This whole thing is a giant smokescreen. Two things about it jump out at me:

1. President Trump cannot make deals with the Democrat leadership on their own. There isn't a single bill in Congress that is ever going to get out of committee without the approval of the majority party.

2. Trump's complaints about the filibuster are clearly not serious. The filibuster is irrelevant if the GOP can't even get a simple majority on any consequential legislation.

If we accept that this is all just noise and distraction, the only question is: What is going on behind the scenes?

That's my take on it. He was tired of these clowns saying they're going to do something and then sitting on their butts for months with nothing to show. Trump took two relatively minor (politically speaking) issues and threw the ‘Rats a bone with the larger goal of kicking the lazy asses of those he helped to win control of both chambers of Congress. Look, everyone knew the debt ceiling was going to be raised, and DACA was a tear jerker of an issue, so throw those to the ‘Rats and hopefully bring the ‘Pubs around to get bigger prize on the next issue.

Exactly. The Uniparty hasn’t yet figured out that there’s a third option. They are still living in the mindset in which they force candidates like McCain, Romney and Jeb on us, and then say, ‘What are you going to do? Vote Democrat?’

Trump won, but the Uniparty thought they’d go back to being in control by undermining him relentlessly. He just pulled the rug out from under their smug act.

They haven’t seen anything yet. Wait till he targets one or two of the worst offenders for electoral defeat. Then they will start to listen.

Maybe if the Republicans/leadership in congress had done something besides attack him weekly, given some support against the democrats and media,passed some of the items that the people voted for, did not slow walk every nominee. He would have not have had to go to democrats. These clown could not come together on one thing that would benefit the people and country. They were more interested in making sure trump got nothing

McConnell has done nothing but stop everything the President wants to do. Who was it that stopped health care reform Republican John McCain and what did McConnell say nothing. The Republican leadership in congress have done nothing but obstruct and attack trump and they are surprised he made a deal with democrats. Who is keeping the Trump/Russia BS alive in congress Republicans they control the committees. Have they looked at Clinton,Comey, Lynch, hell no. Have they questioned the SC Mueller and his disregard for USC 18 CFR 45, 600 no. In fact they are encouraging him to keep after trump. These republicans in congress along with their leadership is a joke. These clowns should not be in charge of anything and most likley will not be after 2018
