Nigel Farage, ex-leader of UKIP and a chief Brexit campaigner, will address Germany’s far-right AfD in Berlin on Friday. Farage reportedly “accepted without hesitation” the invitation to speak at the rally.
Farage is also scheduled to take part in a press conference with AfD deputy leader and European parliamentarian Beatrix von Storch — the granddaughter of Hitler’s finance minister, Lutz von Krosigk, and a member of Farage’s group in the European parliament.
He will speak about the “development of the EU, Brexit and increased citizen participation in the EU,” von Storch wrote on Facebook in August.
Farage spearheaded the Brexit campaign that saw the UK vote to leave the EU in June 2016. He was subsequently feted by US president, Donald Trump, and other rightwing leaders in Europe, including France’s Marie Le Pen. …

Conservatives in Europe seek to conserve the quasi-socialist governments that they hope to represent. It’s their liberals that are free market, free speech, freedom of association, etc. so it is confusing. Our politics and theirs bear little resemblance. Social conservatives there are often fascists.

Believe it or not, Merkel is considered ‘center-right’ and pro-American in the world of German politics.
In most European countries, ‘Christian Democrats’ (like Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union) are their version of our Republicans while ‘Social Democrats’ are sort of like our Democrat Party.

But since you brought her up, here is the last photo I took of my daughter, exercising in the park after her first day in second grade... a promotion of two conservative values: family and good health. Go ahead and make a derogatory remark about it, because you know... you are just such a great shining example of conservatism in doing so.
The repeal and replace thing is going far better than it would have gone under any other Republican candidate, had that candidate won the Republican nomination and then the general election. And, it’s certainly going far better than it would have gone under Hillary Clinton. So, gloat on from Berlin of all places, gloat on Kemosabe. Looks sort of stupid from this side of the pond, but then you wouldn’t be aware of that.
