If you read any political commentary over the last few weeks, you probably heard that Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake has problems. Hes in a feud with a president from his own party. His primary challenger led him in a recent poll. He may have trouble winning the general election in 2018 (if he makes it that far). His state has a large and growing Hispanic population -- which makes it a constant target for Democrats. The list goes on.
So how much do these problems matter? Is Flake really in danger of losing his seat? Its hard to answer these questions this far out from the midterms and with the little polling available. But we can get an early assessment of the race by looking at his advantages, his disadvantages and how much power he has to change each aspect of his situation. Specifically, Im going to examine Arizonas state-level politics, Flakes own political choices and the Trump effect.

Is Jeff Flake’s Re-election in Jeopardy?

I hope so.
It had d*mned well better be.
Hope so. But I’d really like to see Paul Ryan lose HIS seat. It’s even worth it flipping dem to take him out.
So the answer to the article's question is, "We have no clue."
Hopefully. Hopefully so bad he drops out rather than embarrass himself.

absolutely will not happen. Probably an 80% landslide.
Worry about things that are do-able, like Flake.
Yeah ... like he's basically a closet demonicRAT.
Does that mean that his challenger would have an equal or greater chance of losing in the general election?
If the Democrats won his seat, they’d likely have a huge majority in the House.
If he wins, I have no faith in the stupid sheep who vote for him. That to me means AZ is going further left.
Don’t be so sure. Ryan’s stick in trade now is opposing Trump. His district didn’t send him there to stop healthcare reform, advocate for Mexican dreamers, stop the wall, and to investigate Trump.
Throw in that he has an opponent who actually comes across as a decent hard working blue collar guy and appears to be the best threat he’s faced.
Ryan is very beatable.
With Ryan as speaker they already have a democrat majority in the house.
Ryan even took money from Hillary to help stop and to undermine Trump. He has to go. And it’d be a good warning for the turtle.
Do you have a citation for that?
He better be.
I will be supporting Kelli Ward.
I’ll take “It certainly Is” for $500, Alex..................
