After Sessions' announcement we had the predictable lamentations and phony outrage in our local media outlets in my area. But even the news website that was trying to make the case that overturning DACA would have terrible negative economic consequences admitted that only about 40% of the illegal immigrants in my state who were eligible for protection under DACA had actually gone through the process to apply for the proper documentation.
Yea, the better informed ones understood the risks of turning over all that data (including fingerprints, I suspect).
What is a shame is that the 800,000 number could have been much lower if the Republicans had played up that risk a bit, instead of running for the hills on the issue.
