The reason why is the working class has an even larger welfare class to support not to mention supporting all of the government hogs and foreign despots

If you have a marketable skill that commands more than $50K per year, there are forces behind the scenes scrambling furiously to either 1) bring foreigners here to do it for less, or 2) find a way to send the work overseas.
THAT is why this economy is in the tank, and I don’t know how it can be fixed unless India and Red China have a long, destructive war. “Globalization” has resulted in economic insecurity in this country that is preventing many people from buying homes, starting families, etc.
Being able to turn on a tap and get running water. Flipping a switch and the lights coming on.
Sure a lot of countries will tell you they have those things, but when it comes down to it, they have them only sometimes.
And until you have lived in the land of "sometime" you can not appreciate living in the land of "Always".
And it is everywhere. Not just in the big cities. Everywhere in the US barring natural disaster, flip a switch, turn a knob and there you go.
And there are many things like that in the US. They are just "there". No worries if the store will have milk, it will be there. No worries about if you can buy a notebook, they will be there. Effortless and inexpensive.
You take it all for granted until you have lived in the land of "none today, maybe next week."
All made possible by our fellow hard working Americans.
Maybe in other parts of the country, but here in the NYC metro area any new home would be competing with several other homes for sale on the same street. The only reason you don’t see block after block of empty homes is the government’s policy of importing Third Worlders to keep the lights on (and schools open). New constructions seem to be limited to multi-unit hives for childless drones - but we’ve built “bark parks” for their pets.
