AZ State Rep Calls Out McCain: 'He Needs to Show My Constituents More Respect'

Arizona state Rep. Bob Thorpe called out Sen. John McCain Saturday for failing to show his constituents respect.

Thorpe said McCain’s criticism of President Trump’s pardon of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio was unwarranted, given that his predecessor pardoned a record 1,927. Moreover, he argued, Arpaio was convicted of following state and federal laws regarding immigration enforcement—Obama’s pardons on the on the hand included people who revealed national secrets and broke financial fraud laws as well as narcotics laws.

The Arizona Republican said he can forgive McCain for “slandering Arpaio by pushing the false narrative that he was found guilty of profiling latinos” but not for “his failure to protect Americans from those who have not shown respect for the rule of U.S. laws.” Thorpe was referring to the Americans murdered at the hands of illegal immigrants such as Kate Steinle and Jamal Shaw.

McCain, Thorpe said, had clearly forgotten his 2016 campaign promise to “build the danged fence.”

He also called the Republican senator out for another broken campaign promise: repealing Obamacare.

“In a melodramatic reversal of his earlier votes, McCain in July condemned the American people to [continue] suffering under unaffordable health insurance premiums and unattainable deductibles,” he wrote. “Just like his promise to build the “danged fence,” his promise to repeal and replace the failing Obamacare appears to have only been hyperbolic campaign rhetoric.”

These kinds of broken promises by Republicans are causing his constituents to lose faith in the GOP, Thorpe argued.

“Congressmen who constantly grab headlines by attacking our Republican president and conservatives, and who are oblivious to the many campaign promises that got them elected, are destroying my constituents' confidence in our Republican Party,” said Thorpe.

“Radical, violent mobs seeking to destroy our history have been taking their toll on our republic. But so are the elected officials who encourage them, as well as those in our Republican Congress who don’t want to do the job we elected them to do, who instead spend their time defying the president and his agenda.”

This nation really does need to repeal the 17th Amendment and return to having state legislators select state senators. Just think of all the money that will disappear out of Washington.

He disrespected the Tea Party calling them "tea party hobbits."

"When John Brennan was nominated for the position as CIA director, Rand Paul led a filibuster in opposition. He was later joined by senators Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Jerry Moran, Marco Rubio, Saxby Chambliss, and Pat Toomey. In response, McCain called Paul, Lee, and Cruz "Wacko birds."

People like John McCain have long given the republican party a bad name. John McCain should resign and focus upon his health, let Arizona’s Governor appoint a replacement.

McCain is an ass for criticizing the pardon of Sheriff Joe, who was trying to protect us, as the writer pointed out.

Didn’t AZ’s Goldwater call LBJ a “faker”? If Goldwater were still around, he could see a real “faker” in Goldwater’s preferred Senate successor.

It’s hard to believe that any of us voted for AZ’s faker in 2008, but we held our nose and did so!

Yep, term limits won’t overcome the lure of the hard-core Stalinists on the part of so many “Americans.”

McCain has gone insane and has to go. A well-funded “Recall” movement would be a nice going away present from the people to this presidential wannabe.

Let him know that he’s a failure and time to retired to the old age home for incompetent politicians. They have a room reserved for him, and have for a long time.

DRAIN TEH SWAMP. DRAIN MCCAIN!

McCain picked Palin to be his veep. It was the last sop to the base. It gave him cover for the dive he took in the general. He was hoping to throw it to Hillary. It looked bad tossing it to a neophyte like Obama.

“funny how nobody talks about his brain tumor.”

Considering that it turned him into a democrat, the dims surely don’t want to bring it up.

I wonder how many dims have undiagnosed brain tumors.

McCains flip flopping on campaign promises could cause one to wonder exactly how he behaved while being held as a POW in the Hanoi Hilton. Did he or didn’t he collude with his captors to gain personal favors? Some of his fellow prisoners think he did.
