Arizona state Rep. Bob Thorpe called out Sen. John McCain Saturday for failing to show his constituents respect.
Thorpe said McCains criticism of President Trumps pardon of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio was unwarranted, given that his predecessor pardoned a record 1,927. Moreover, he argued, Arpaio was convicted of following state and federal laws regarding immigration enforcementObamas pardons on the on the hand included people who revealed national secrets and broke financial fraud laws as well as narcotics laws.
The Arizona Republican said he can forgive McCain for slandering Arpaio by pushing the false narrative that he was found guilty of profiling latinos but not for his failure to protect Americans from those who have not shown respect for the rule of U.S. laws. Thorpe was referring to the Americans murdered at the hands of illegal immigrants such as Kate Steinle and Jamal Shaw.
McCain, Thorpe said, had clearly forgotten his 2016 campaign promise to build the danged fence.
He also called the Republican senator out for another broken campaign promise: repealing Obamacare.
In a melodramatic reversal of his earlier votes, McCain in July condemned the American people to [continue] suffering under unaffordable health insurance premiums and unattainable deductibles, he wrote. Just like his promise to build the danged fence, his promise to repeal and replace the failing Obamacare appears to have only been hyperbolic campaign rhetoric.
These kinds of broken promises by Republicans are causing his constituents to lose faith in the GOP, Thorpe argued.
Congressmen who constantly grab headlines by attacking our Republican president and conservatives, and who are oblivious to the many campaign promises that got them elected, are destroying my constituents' confidence in our Republican Party, said Thorpe.
Radical, violent mobs seeking to destroy our history have been taking their toll on our republic. But so are the elected officials who encourage them, as well as those in our Republican Congress who dont want to do the job we elected them to do, who instead spend their time defying the president and his agenda.
“How DID WE nominate him in 08?”
Same way that mittens got nominated and jebby almost got nominated. Just last time, us peasants revolted and we were having no no no Jebby
Mister McCain has not forgotten anything.
This duly embarrassed, and once and former McCain voter highly, highly suspects that candidate McCain was deliberately and premeditatively...
LYING!
.
McQueeg is a premier example of why the Constitution should be amended to permit recall of a U.S. Senator.
I agree. And there should be term limits.
what an interesting comment....
.....
since when has McShame shown the voters OR ANYONE ELSE any respect?????????????????
I live in Oklahoma where all 77 counties went for Trump. I send campaign donations out of state to folks like Representative Thorpe. I have him on my list now!
Term limits isn’t really a panacea. It would only shift the power to the unelected people behind the scenes serving the Deep State. California passed term limits to rid itself of Democrat Speaker “King Willie” Brown and it worked for about 5 minutes to get the GOP in power, and then the left quickly got back control and it’s been a revolving door of corrupt, radical Stalinist puppets ever since (since 1996) and the place has turned into a 3rd world hellhole (unless you’re ultrarich and living in a coastal enclave, and they vote for these corrupt Stalinists).

If the 17th Amendment to the Construction was repealed, most of the current Senators would be gone.
AZ has three good Representatives, Franks, Gosar and Thorpe, as far as I can tell, the rest suck.
I watched a couple thousand Dreamers knock the crap out of Trump supporters in San Jose in totally unprovoked attacks .
I don’t care where they go as long as they go
Thorpe isn’t a Congressman. He is a member of the state legislature.
McSally?
I am from Tucson, I’m not impressed.
Repeal of the 17th wouldn’t result in improvements. They would just be hacks and puppets of leftist Deep State groups and unaccountable to the voters, and both parties members would be of the single mind to loot the bankrupt treasury. It would go from bad to worse.
McSally’s voting record has been subpar. She earned a 58% Conservative rating from the ACU in 2015 and a 76% in 2016. She’s actually to the left of Flake (he got a 79% in 2016).
I think “Songbird” is headed to
His just
Rewards...very soon.
God will take care of that soon. Hopefully McCain will be buried close to Hanoi Jane.
I will always believe that McCain threw that race from the beginning and Palin was just put there to be destroyed by the left. She was a raising GOP star. I believe it was all in the master plan with the uniparty same as it was “her turn” this election cycle but then Trump “happened” and even all the corruption that the uniparty could foist on us wasn’t enough to pull it off.
Keep President Trump and his family in your prayers. This country deserved Hillary. Good showed us mercy.
