Seventh Circuit Judge Richard Posner sees absolutely no value in studying the U.S. Constitution because eighteenth-century guys couldnt have possibly foreseen the culture and technology of today.
In a recent op-ed for Slate, Judge Posner, a senior lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School, argued that the original Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the postCivil War amendments do not speak to today.
I see absolutely no value to a judge of spending decades, years, months, weeks, day, hours, minutes, or seconds studying the Constitution, the history of its enactment, its amendments, and its implementation (across the centuries well, just a little more than two centuries, and of course less for many of the amendments), he wrote. Eighteenth-century guys, however smart, could not foresee the culture, technology, etc., of the 21st century.

Leftists are weeping! Let the repopulation of the 7th circuit begin!!
Well then, he must have some things to say to Old Media and their beloved First Amendment (I know, being naïve here, lol).
The Bible was written “from the beginning” and it is more than relevant today!
Let us pray in agreement that more judges like this one will no longer be part of our judicial system.
There is always value in having a framework to guide the process of governing. Otherwise, it all becomes just a chaotic mess of on-the-fly, disconnected legislation that does not reinforce our basic values. And that’s what liberals don’t like or respect: ENDURING VALUES.
What does he base his rulings on? CNN utterings??

Poster has outlived his self life.
Posner? Or Poser?
Actually, Judge Poseur (sp?), they could. They were students of history. They knew governments tended toward despotism. That's why they created a system with checks and balances.
They may not have been ables to foresee today's technology, but they damn well could foresee the culture.
There might be some value in studying posner’s personal finances over the years.
This is self-incrimination as a domestic enemy of the Constitution. Immediate impeachment, in a sane world. Which this isn’t. You watch—this guy will soon be a big player in another anti-Trump drama. They wouldn’t be featuring him if he wasn’t one of the Cool Kids.
Democrats are Democrats first.
Being an American is way down on their list.

This leftist needs to retire, with or without his consent.
The same thing that the FBI uses in determining whether or not to proceed with an investigation. Ever changing public opinion and social outcries.
As far as I am concerned he just gave out grounds for removal from the bench. He clearly took the oath to the Constitution under false pretenses.
Exactly right!
