I don’t feel sorry for SLC taxpayers either. You get the government that you vote for.
Good luck with that. The mayor is a nutcase lesbian.
Correct on every point. THIS is the real story.
This cop is totally unsuited to be wearing/carrying a badge, and anyone in the chain of command who would countenance this sort of behavior on the part of its officers in the field and precinct supervisors should be fired immediately, starting at the top.
As someone who goes out of his way to thank every cop I meet, I nevertheless have had my share of run-ins with officers who are real unjust assholes who abuse their authority and are a disgrace to their profession.
"Exigent circumstances" is a part of these kinds of laws, but you still need a reason to invoke it in each specific case. There was no reason here, certainly none ever stated, to think that the unconscious driver had been impaired by booze or pills.
The nurse was very fortunate that she was not killed on the spot. She[from his point of view] disrespected his authority grievously. That the law[s] of the State of Utah was lost on both him and the jackboot lickers on this forum. The other Police Department, upon being made aware of the situation, issues a statement commending her for her courage.
My opinions ,based on what I have read and observed on the video are as follows: 1. The detective wanted the blood to plant as evidence at some of his unsolved crime scenes. 2. He became extremely enraged that a mere woman oppose him. 3. Based on his toward the nurse that did not grovel at his feet, he is a woman abuser and woman hater.
Had to look it up, but unsurprisingly found that the lesbian mayor of Salt Lake City, who helped keep this outrage under wraps for five weeks until the nurse victim managed to get the video out, is a Democrat. That she uses the same mayonnaise based hair conditioner as Debbie Wasserman Schultz was one clue. And her incompetent reading of her prepared script during the hastily organized press conference (mispronounced several words) was another. Her downcast expression, “My whole political career is in the toilet” as she walked from the podium after being eviscerated by the media present (”You guys are supposed to be on our side!”) was enjoyable to watch.
I think that I did too.
Way too elaborate. I’d assume he was friends with the officer in pursuit and was trying to mitigate his friend’s situation by casting doubt upon the driver of the truck who hit the fleeing driver’s vehicle that was being pursued. It’s likely he knew that hospital-administered drugs would turn up. It’s also likely that he’s done this before, imho.
They should be in the lockup for their conspiracy to commit Felony Kidnapping.
Yeah, his entitled behavior makes one think maybe he’s had other medical personnel comply with his demands...
Might want to go back through the records of officer-involved crashes with the SLCPD, to see if Officer Payne turns up, and if there’s anything questionable going on, looking back. From a police force admin perspective, it’d might be nice to mitigate damages from officer-involved crashes, to the point of employing a “fixer,” mightn’t it?
If we had an Attorney General.
I hope this nice lady comes out of this set for life.
That was at the Summerlin Costco in Vegas. The victim was a West Point graduate as well as a veteran. He was inspecting water bottles when a customer saw his gun which was not sufficiently concealed. The store ordered everybody to leave and as he left he was confronted by local police. He was holding his gun by the butt per a witness in the holster when he was shot 2 times standing and another 5 times on the ground. Photos showed the gun wound up on the ground still in the holster. The next day Costco posted signs at their stores that firearms were not permitted in the stores. BTW, Costco claimed that all of the security cameras were not operating, either internally when he was looking at the bottles or as he exited the store.
And i believe the accident that put the truck driver/part time police officer (i believe from another post) into the ER was due a police chase. Are the cops covering up an unlawful police chase?
the accident was caused by a police chase. The car hit the truck evading the cops. was it an unlawful or unnecessary police chase?
>>..and later swear under oath that it was a justified shoot.

Oh yes, can you just hear it?
“I felt threatened and unsafe.”
You may want to re-evaluate your definition of "good" then.
Stop doing that. Some of us know how to handle popups and the others need to learn.
