A Senate Republican is standing up for a GOP colleague in his contentious reelection bid, despite opposition from President Trump.
Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) will speak at a Phoenix fundraiser for Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) in support of the senator's reelection campaign against a pro-Trump challenger, according to azcentral.com.
Ernst will appear at a Young Republicans meet-and-greet event on Sept. 7, followed by a "Women for Flake" fundraiser the next day, Flake's campaign told the paper.

Elected in 2014.
Must be record time to convert what seemed like a real person into a DC swamp creature.
Congresswoman Mia Love (Utah) was another disappointment.
First Haitian, first black female republican in Congress.
She very quickly became part of John Boehner’s RINO voting block. I suppose many of the new Congress will simply gravitate to the side with more money and more political influence. Understandable, but still disappointing.
Say it ain’t so Joni.
Of course they will. Swamp rats.
Joni is now a confirmed RINO!
Very frustrating to see fearless first time candidates turn into crony politicians. And many in a literally blink of an eye like Ernst.
I don’t give to the RNC anymore, I don’t want my money to be mixed with the RINOs money where they can decide what to do with my money. I like to give to Concerned Women for America and the Tea Party Patriots. There have to be large money sources that can compete with the big donors who give to the RNC. Main Street has to get its act together and realize that we cannot attach ourselves to our mortal enemies.
Shows how powerful the lure and threats from the swamp are. I also donated to Mia Love and regret that I was taken in.
Shouldn’t that be “Tea Party darling Joni Ernst”?
What is wrong with Joni Ernst? This isn’t the same person voters in Iowa supported. Sen. Flake is a mess, and this will cause Ernst’s base to lose interest and fail to support her.
Jonie the bony, phony baloney in the swamp with the snake, named Senator Flake The smell of the pork made her side with that dork. So, people of Iowa Reject this swamp rino-ma. (You can see more evidence of her intimacy with pork here.) |
It’s what happens to all of them (nearly all)...they get wrapped up in campaigning, someone offers them a lot of money and they are tickled to take it thinking they are really well liked and supported. Then the get to DC and the bill comes due...they are told how to vote and who to support. Or the money stops going to them and starts going to an opponent, and their luxurious life of power and influence in the world’s most exclusive club comes to an end.
That’s what happens.
Another RINO?
Swamp things stick together. Sounds like she’s drunk the kool-aid and joined the corruption. Time to find someone to primary her next time around.
If there are three challengers, and indications are that there could be at least that many, then it's a Flake reelection.
“would mean a loss of influence within the Republican Senate caucus,”
Influence...that’s what Chuckie has. The REPUBs only influence under McConnell is to get credit for the article in the bill proposing that WikiLeaks is an enemy of the US State.
The Senate Majority Leader supports Flake, therefore his troops in the Senate are expected to fall into line. Failure to do so would mean a loss of influence within the Republican Senate caucus, influence that can make or break a senator. Ernst is doing what her position requires her to do, nothing more.
Sore loser and now Senate committee Chairwoman Murkowski ran against the Republican nominee in Alaska. I see how much influence she has lost in the Republican Senate caucus. Apparently, some animals are more equal than others.
Cornholio is up in 2020. He needs to go. I think he is every bit as slimy as McConnell.
Well, I guess that ratfink McConnell will make that happen, huh? McConnell doesn't want to risk losing one of his GOPe globalist turds.
No, she’s likely blackmailed and bought off by big shots like all the Senate.
