HOUSTON, Texas A New York firefighter currently working as a first responder in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey got his first taste of a Texas icon Whataburger. His reaction tells the whole story. The fast-food restaurant chain that operates nearly 700 stores in Texas set up a food service operation for Hurricane Harvey relief workers. An unidentified New York firefighter stepped up to get his first taste of the often bragged about Texas burger. The skeptical fireman said, Texas guys wanna tell me This is a burger, this is the official Texas burger, he said as he prepared to take his first bite. I dont think so, but were gonna see right now. Another New Yorker can be heard off camera saying, Forget about it.

Whataburgers.
Nobody else in the World can make a burger any better than Whataburger.

For sure. With green chili for me.
I’ll bump that right there.
Had one Friday night .
In the late ‘70s, I found myself in Harlingen TX. having to drive to Corpus Christi to catch a flight. On the outskirts of town I saw a huge billboard saying “Welcome to Corpus Christi, Home of the Whatabuger!”
Darn...now I wish I had stopped and gotten one before my flight.
You should try the hbcb honey butter chicken biscuit with a side of buffalo sauce.
For breakfast at Rivals Chick-fil-A.
It’s not surprising that both are Christian companies
Was he as disappointed as I was when I had my first one?
I was born and raised in Texas and, yes, the Whataburger is that delicious!!!
Whataburger is a superior burger. McDonalds, Burger King, all these pretenders are not worthy to tie Whataburger’s shoes, if burger joints had shoes.
I really don’t understand why Whataburger hasn’t taken over the entire country at this point.
“Nobody else in the World can make a burger any better than Whataburger.”
WB = Sonic. Don’t care for either one.
I’ve eaten many Whataburgers, too. But they don’t come close to Five Guys.
Our two teen daughters had heard about Whataburger for years from transplanted family in Texas so when we took them for a visit one year, that was on the to-do list. They were disappointed but polite about it to our Uncle when he asked.
That said, their burgers may not be what everyone likes but I sure do respect the way they are helping and serving people in need.
After the Long Night Of Obama, and the troubles and division caused by that stinking administration, it is really good to see the positive things happening in our country again, especially with a catastrophe like Harvey. Thank you to President Trump and the millions of us who voted him in!
Peach
Wow......LTNS!!!
OK, I like WhataBurgers, (and LottaBurgers which are a similar NM icon), but the best burgers in the world?
Hardly.
Above average for a fast food franchise, but not really that great compared to what a cook who really takes pride in his / her work can put out.
The best burger I ever had, was a buffalo (bison) burger at a little place at one end of the Rio Grande Gorge bridge in Colorado. I once drove 300 miles out of my way just to have another, but sadly found that the place was only a pile of bulldozed rubble.
I still dream of those burgers occasionally.
