It’s good to be proud of your hometown.

Free Republic is (the last time I looked) a Conservative site to discuss things with other Conservatives.

I’m not debating the weather. It will be what it will be.

I’m debating the Mayor of Houston’s actions prior to and during this event.

That, I think, is fair game for debate.

Your Mayor is a Democrat. He is in trouble for not at least recommending that some people evacuate prior to the storm.

To me, it looks like the Houston Chronicle is just trying to coverup for a Democrat.

I think the Chronicle’s proper job is to analyze the actions of the elected officials of Houston prior to and during the storm.

My unofficial research shows that the Mayor liked to talk about global warming and immigration.

That seems like a distraction to me.

I think the people of Houston should be angry about that.

Global warming and immigration aren’t in his job description.

That means he was screwing around when he could have and should have been working.

Houston, had a heck of a rainstorm.....no debate there.

Gosh. It’s a good thing the Houston Chronicle let us know that a lot of rain could be a problem. We might never know.

Let me know the next time 4 ft of rain falls on your head in less than 72 hrs if you already knew what that was like.

There are numerous factors involved as far as a given named storm maintaining hurricane strength well inland but it certainly does occur. Houston is fortunate that this stalled storm didn’t draw energy to sustain windspeed in addition to moisture from the gulf.

Actually the reverse is true, if Harvey had the energy to sustain wind speeds, it would have turned North and left the area after about 24 - 30 inches or rain instead of over 50 inches. Lacking the energy, it stalled out up against a high pressure system. The it was feeding of itself, not the Gulf.

You just can’t help demonstrating what an idiot you are can you?

The mayor has been in public view 24/7 doing an exceptional job of coordinating resources and providing leadership, even for a Democrat.

I don’t know where you are getting your information unless it is the Idiot Gazette.

I’d probably write a song about it.

Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head On Blue Bayou Or Wherever It Is You Live -A Duet By blueunicorn6 And CMAC51, In The Key Of F Flat.

And you wouldn’t get a dime of the royalties.

Not one.....thin.....dime.

Maybe a fat nickel, but no thin dimes.

Why, I’ve been a fully-paid subscriber to The Idiot Gazette for years.

I’m not going to buy another subscription from you just because you write for them.

Find someone else to pay your way through college.

I don’t want to be your Sugar Daddy.

“So, “Amarillo by morning” doesn’t apply to Harvey?”

Well technically in the song that was starting in San Anton’ and Harvey only just made it that far.

Yes, Texas is a big state.

Does Texas not want to remain a big state?

So what’s the point?

Actually the reverse is true, if Harvey had the energy to sustain wind speeds, it would have turned North and left the area after about 24 - 30 inches or rain instead of over 50 inches. ... and there would be hurricane level wind damage which was the point I was actually communicating.
