Berkeley mayor Jesse Arreguin has called for authorities to tackle left-wing violence by classifying members of AntiFa, the loosely organized group of “anti-fascists” who believe that violence is acceptable in countering right-wing extremism, as a gang.

Berkeley police made ten arrests on Sunday, using tear gas to disperse black clad counter-protesters on several occasions, Newsweek reported from the protests Sunday.
Organizers had called off the “No Marxism in America” event earlier after strict police measures were introduced, but hundreds of counter-demonstrators and a small group of right-wing protesters gathered regardless. Mayor Arreguin said that new measures were required to tackle a violent fringe of left-wing demonstrators.
“I think we should classify them as a gang,” said Arreguin, as quoted by CBS. “They come dressed in uniforms. They have weapons, almost like a militia and I think we need to think about that in terms of our law enforcement approach.”
Arreguin said that although he does not support the far-right, tougher measures were required to counter left-wing violence, and called for non-violent protesters to take a stand.
In the wake of Charlottesville and Sunday’s unrest, Arreguin called for UC Berkeley to cancel a follow-up appearance by Yiannopoulos scheduled for September, during an event titled Free Speech Week.
“I believe that is the right thing to do,” said Arreguin. “And if they don’t do that, then they need to work with the city and potentially assist the city through resources to be able to adequately police what we know is going to be a large protest that will spill out onto the city streets.”

Who would have thunk it. Masked men dressed in black armed with clubs, pepper spray, and feces attacking peaceful demonstrators exercising their right of free speech are not the defenders of freedom and liberty.
It should be apparent to Hizzoner by now that he isn't in control of the thing just because he is empowered to turn a blind eye. And when he still asks - at least he isn't telling them anymore - speakers who might ruffle the beast's feathers to stay away, he's nowhere near any meaningful resistance to it, it's only surrender under a thin cloak of the law. He's a mayor whose streets are ruled by a mob, whether he colludes with it or not.
The Red Army Faction existed for decades organized along similar lines, and it was not until its source of outside funding, East Germany, dried up that it was finally brought to heel. That approach is needed here. This would have been a band of kerchief-wearing brats throwing a tantrum were it not heavily funded and stirred up by outside agencies with revolutionary aims. The hand needs to come down on the NGOs behind this violence, and there's a problem there, because those are, at the management level, inextricably linked with both Deep State within the government and the Democrat party. That tooth is going to resist being pulled, and if necessary, by violence.

Yet, there is a complete absence of evidence that the so called non violent protesters do not support ANTIFA.
In fact, Berkely march organizers asked allies in the ANTIFA movement to “play a defensive role” in the rally.
The “non violent” protesters and ANTIFA are a two headed serpent.
Antifa are the American Bolsheviks.

Traditionally, Bezerkeley Oakland and San Francisco politicians have not only shielded but actually incited or encouraged left-wing commie or nazi-type mobs like “antiFa” (sic!) to take over the streets and riot.
Indeed, normal peaceable citizens try to avoid even driving through those cities (you never know when a mob like antiFa or BLM or CPUSA or AmericanNazis will actually block the road and surround your car and start attacking you, break your windows and grab you and pull you out of your car and beat you up and leave you bleeding on the pavement)
or something like that. you never know.. the mayors of both Bezerkeley and Oakland have permitted left wing mob riots to block major traffic arterials and accost drivers in their cars...several times in just the last couple years. You’re sick and on way to hospital emergency? Tough Sh*t!

Actually, having had a career in the DOJ Office of the Inspector General I do know how long audits and investigations take from an inside perspective. They take too long. Bureucraic inertia and lack of zeal is what my beef is. I’m just not seeing a sense of urgency by the DOJ for addressing outrageous criminality. Verstehen?

But even this nobody realizes that good investigators do not make public what they are doing until they are finished. Also the new head of the FBI Wray, and AG Sessions, are still dealing with huge numbers of people in the FBI/DoJ who are untrustworthy and from what I read, not on board fully, shall we say.
