http://dailycaller.com/2017/01/08/mattis-has-pushed-two-state-solution-for-israel-blasted-west-bank-settlements/

...“Israel and Palestine, the current situation between those two peoples is unsustainable,” Mattis said. “We’re going to have to find a way for a two-state solution. If we do not, then we will continue to see warfare as it keeps the kettle boiling out there.”

“That is why you see so much of Secretary Clinton’s efforts go into trying to keep this peace effort at least alive,” Mattis added.

Mattis reiterated this position in 2013 and stressed that additional Israeli settlements in the West Bank could even result in apartheid, not to mention rendering the prospect of a two-state solution impossible.

He said that the perception America was biased in favor of Israel was a constant thorn in his side while he served as head of U.S. Central Command....

The right answer is to let Israel, Jordan, and Egypt sort this out themselves. Back Israel with whatever material and influence is helpful to them. Stop treating Hamas and Fatah as if they were legitimate governments; if they have something to say, they can say it directly to one of the three constituted governments involved. We should not grant them any kind of legitimacy beyond what we would grant any backwater mayor of a backwater city.

Palestinian leaders say they still don’t know what President Trump’s position is on their conflict with Israel, frustrated that he refuses to commit publicly to the so-called “two-state solution” as the key to resolving it.

If I were President, I would never get involved with the Palestinians, because they are the welfare queens of the international community, they don't really want peace, and there is no outside resolution to their problems. Its a lose-lose-lose.

One cannot have a two state solution when one side refuses to recognize the others right to exist. The Palestinian state is a farce...they should be absorbed by Israel and brought to heel!!!

The so-called Palestinians were offered a two-state solution years ago. They rejected it. What they want is a one-state solution - no Israel.

I SO DESPISE THE NEWS MEDIA AND THEIR LYING HEADLINES!! This lying headline makes it look like 1) Trump is opposed to "solutions"; 2) The two-state proposal really is a "solution". Both of these contentions are FALSE.

The TRUTH is that Trump supports the rightful sovereignty of Israel.

“frustrated that he refuses to commit publicly to the so-called “two-state solution” as the key to resolving it. “

Oh, so you mean the minute he walked in the door, he didn’t guaranteed he will adopt your negotiating goal?
Shocking.

I though arabs were supposed to be these shrewd traders and all.

Good. It’s not up to us to determine what the solution there will look like.

What nonsense, at least the headline.

The source of the headline are unnamed palestinians. Reading the thread I see some conservatives accept that. Myself, I don't trust unnamed palestinian officials any more than I trust unnamed American officials. Actually far less, unnamed American officials often make sense.

As to President Trump, well, he said nothing. Which doesn't prevent palestinian officials from speaking for him.

The administration, when asked U.S. was departing from the long-held position that “the best possible outcome, that everybody agrees upon, is the two-state solution.” Heather Nauert, spokeswoman, said Our policy on this hasn’t changed
