The Rev. Robert Wright Lee IV, a descendant of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, is scheduled to appear at Sunday nights VMAs after publicly supporting the removal of the statue of his ancestor in Charlottesville, Va., and similar monuments.
An MTV spokesperson confirmed to Page Six on Sunday that Rev. Lee will make an appearance during the show, but declined to elaborate on his role in the ceremony.
A source tells us Rev. Lee feels obligated to speak out against racism following the white supremacist rally and tragic violence that surrounded the planned removal of the Gen. Lee statue in Charlottesville.

He was actually a usurper.
I have a double whammy on me. My name is Robert, middle name Lee, AND I graduated from Robert E. Lee High School.
And damn proud of it!
True. I am related to Stonewall Jackson in a round about way, his aunt was my three times great-grandmother, but no gives a #&%@ what I have to say.
Does he have a sense of entitlement going on or what?
Well he won’t be able to appear on ESPN.
Oh so THIS Robert Lee can appear somewhere and not trigger these twits because they can get him to do their monkey dance?
And isnt this supposed to be a damn music awards show?
It runs in families, where a black sheep will come along and badmouth their forebears. Nothing young Lee says or does to curry the favor of Fake News will alter one millisecond of history. It is what it is. Reminds me of Benjamin Franklin, who was a Patriot Founder of our Nation. Franklin had a son, William, I think, who sided with the British and worked for the Crown in New Jersey. Ben Franklin, his father, thereafter referred to his son as “That little bastard.”
As far as anyone knows, he’s a limp wrist, and quite light in the loafers. Marital status, whatever arrangement that may be, is unknown.
Maybe they should. You seem to have inherited plenty of common sense at the very minimum.
Thanks, otherwise I wouldn't be on FR.
#11 Generally I agree with you on general principals that generally is used wrong generally speaking.
