At a time when the US is grappling with the issue of Muslims, son of Egyptian Muslim immigrants Dr. Abdul El-Sayed is all set to run for the post of Governor of Michigan state. Having served as the executive director of the Detroit Health Department, he shifted to politics. Still, the issue of El-Sayed’s religion is prominent on his mind. After his stump speech at Adrian, Michigan, El-Sayed was asked whether he was planning to introduce the sharia law to the US if he would succeed in becoming the first Muslim governor of the US. Replying that he would obviously not, he also added that he strictly believed in the separation of Church and State, indicating that he had no interest in mixing his religion with his political work.
“If I am going to want to be able to put my face on the ground 34 times a day like I do because I’m Muslim, I want to make sure no one can take that right away from me. And I will not take that right away from anyone else,” he said, adding that he had every right to practice whatever religion he wanted in his home because that is the freedom for which the US Constitution stands for. He also insisted that it is the separation of Church and State that allowed people to have the freedom to practice whatever religion they wanted to.
As to how he will be received as the first Muslim governor in American history, he pointed out at the election of John F. Kennedy’s as president – which was a remarkable point in American history because he was the first Catholic to become president – that too in a country that has had a troubled history with Catholics.
If elected, El-Sayed promises to increase the minimum wage to $15 and to legalize marijuana, suggesting a very bold and modern mentality. He has also refused to accept any contributions from large corporations, indicating that he would prefer to remain free from the control of any vested interests.
Not gonna happen!
Is he running as a Democrat or on the Green Party ticket?
I hope he gets the nomination.

The bad news about Section 1 is this. Citizens must rely on Congress to protect them if their state abridges their constitutionally enumerated protections. But since we still have a corrupt Congress left over from the lawless Obama Administration that predictably won’t lift a finger strengthen constitutional protections, patriots need to consider the following.

Since corrupt Congress is the biggest part of the sewer (imo) that Trump wants to drain, it is actually up to patriots to drain the sewer in the 2018 elections, patriots supporting Trump by electing as many new members of Congress as they can who will support Trump.
In the meanwhile, patriots need to make sure that there are plenty of Trump-supporting candidates on the primary ballots.
Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitution’s Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal government’s powers.
Patriots also need to make sure that candidates are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal government’s limited powers listed here.

Also, unlike incumbent members of Congress who wrongly remained silent while misguided state officials abridged the constitutionally enumerated rights of citizens during the lawless Obama Administration, patriots need to make sure that candidates on the 2018 primary ballots commit to the following.
Candidates need to commit to making and enforcing 14th Amendment-related laws to prosecute misguided state officials who use state powers to abridge constitutionally enumerated protections, 1st Amendment-protected religious expression and free speech for example, such actions prohibited by Section 1 of the 14th Amendment shown above.
