The 2017 regular-season is less than two weeks away and Colin Kaepernick remains out of work. Depending on who you ask, the reasons vary from "he's being blackballed by the league because he knelt during the national anthem last season" (as a form of protest against social injustice, it should be noted) to "he just hasn't played well enough the last few years."
Rev. Jesse Jackson firmly falls into the former category. On Friday, he said during an appearance on "Real Time with Bill Maher" that NFL owners "have colluded" to keep Kaepernick from playing.
"They have decided not to have him play and he should have the right to play and express himself at the same time," he told Maher, adding later, "He's not burning the flag, he's not hustling drugs to teammates, he's not shooting people with guns."

This one sided crap is getting old! They are trying their best to take our freedoms away from us.. one by one.. two by two...
And this continues with this shameful example of a football player. He’s not wanted... get a clue!! He took that knee and showed himself for who he is...
Ya can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.. if he was any good, they’d sign him.. He aleinated himself and now he wants a favor.. the spoiled kid who thought he could do anything and get ahead... these younguns that come out of their parent’s house and care.. think the world is waiting for their brilliance.
In a week or so, the NFL teams will cut their rosters from 90 to 53 players and around 1000 more players will be unemployed. Most of them will be black and many will be much better players than Kaepernick. Is old Jessie.going to insist they be given a job also?
Sorry, Jesse. The NFL isn’t a pushover line WBBM was when you intimidated them into giving radio newsperson Felicia Middlebrooks a massive raise.
Kaepernick is a B- player and the negative press his antics brought upon the NFL isn’t worth his level of football. And the NFL can play—or not play—anyone they damn well please.
Then again, you were making excuses for your convict son because hecrhrw a temper tantrum when he realized he couldn’t be senator. Perhaps if you stopped making excuses for people who misbehave, your followers might be making something of themselves and wouldn’t NEED your bluster and ballyhoo.
By the way, “reverend”, where exactly is your church? I’lll bet it’s a PO box.
Kaepernick should have a talk with Tim Tebow and learn how to move on.
Man, I’d love to make 500 grand for working half a year.
Keep it up Jesse Jackass. If you think this is helping your cause (whatever that is other than lining your own pockets), you are sadly mistaken.
It's about alienating working and middle-class white fans from a sport that employs black athletic millionaires.
White fans get disgusted and leave; black athletes are now unemployed.
A two-fer for the Left.
Colin is being shut out of the league because of his politics. While he’s not a particularly good QB (the NFL figured out the read option a while back), he is probably better than some of the ones who will end up on rosters. Actually, he is not quite being shut out for his politics, or because those politics are asinine; he’s being shut out because his politics are bad for business. The owners in the NFL would love nothing more than to cram him down their customers’ throats. Remember, the NFL’s greatest ally, ESPN, basically exists to celebrate Bruce Jenner chopping off his penis. I hope the league continues to lose viewers. I would love to see it fold one day.
Adios, Jesse. Everything you touch turns to crap. Some people are too stupid to be free.
Je$$e Jack$$on wants us to believe that the NFL wants to keep black people out of the league.
Right, Je$$e.
I think your statement is correct....he has no desire to just plain play football. He has some other plan in his head and no team will sign you for that type of situation.
I think by week seven....if there is a team with a wounded quarterback and desperate enough...he’ll get signed to a single year contract...maybe in the range of $500k a game. Beyond that, I think he’s finished.
NFL minimum for a player with six years experience like CK is $775k.
Rookie minimum is $465k, so teams will go with a rookie instead of a veteran for marginal bench players.
Maybe a law could be passed to force each team to employ Colin Kaepernick for one game per season. Viewers would know it wasn’t the owners’ choice, so they’d sympathize, and Mr. Kaepernick’s poor skills would affect each team equally, one time only.
Why doesn’t CK look for a QB job with Isis.
Kaepernick is the one who decided to OPT OUT of his contract with the 49ers. If he hadn’t done that, he’d still have a job.
GOOD!
They SHOULD!
Yes. Yes he did.
Someone whose skills have deteriorated to “2 wins, 14 lost in 2016” thinks he’s entitled to a place on an NFL team and blames owner collusion when he’s not.
Jesse smells money in the water.
