Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) disagrees with President Trump's decision to pardon former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday.
"The speaker does not agree with the decision," Ryan's spokesman Doug Andres told The Wall Street Journal. "Law-enforcement officials have a special responsibility to respect the rights of everyone in the United States. I don’t give a flying fruck what Paul Ryan thinks. It’s not his call. He’s not the president. Shaddup smarmy guy.
Ryan is doing his damndest to give the middle finger to the base. He can’t keep expecting to win doing so. Just ask Eric Cantor.
After next year’s election, I think the President should ask GOP for a different speaker and make it clear that a vote to retain Ryan as speaker will be considered a vote against Trump and dealt with accordingly. With Flake and Corker and hopefully a couple other RINO senators having been defeated by that point, maybe the House GOP caucus will get the message.
