Having grown up in Miami (Hialeah) I am aware of problems in South America and I know Venezuela is a mess but I can’t imagine getting our military involved. We can’t fix the world.

My personal bombing recommendation is Ft. Tiunas outside Caracas. Get the chavistas wing of the military and it’s also their national gold repository. And do some surgical strikes on the Iranians and Cubans who run the place and actually keep Maduro in power. If Trump wants to pick a fight with the Iranians, LatAm is the place to do it. They’re all over the place right now.

I do too. As long as the dollar is the international reserve currency, not likely. As long as the supply of higher ed facilities in the US exceeds domestic demand, not likely. As long as Congress fellates K Street while lying to its constituents, not likely.
The biggest difference, IMO, that Americans have not come to grips with is the Internet. For over 2 centuries, we had the Atlantic and the Pacific as formidable barriers to migration and attack. Not true today. Air travel and the Internet have dissolved what protected us from foreign influences.

They sell drugs, human traffic, counterfeit money and some minerals.
They also made big score selling ballistic missile and nuclear weapons technology to Iran. I guess Iran came into a large sum of money recently.
We will only send a few troops if any. We will work with our regional partners in the region and they will take care of Venezuelan. Same for Afghanistan.
We will send equipment though.
