Sebastian Gorka is resigning his post as Deputy Assistant to President Trump, multiple sources familiar with the situation have told The Federalist.
In a blunt resignation letter, the national security and counterterrorism expert expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of the Trump administration. [G]iven recent events, it is clear to me that forces that do not support the MAGA promise are for now ascendant within the White House, Gorka wrote. As a result, the best and most effective way I can support you, Mr. President, is from outside the Peoples House.
Gorkas letter expressed unhappiness with the direction the Trump administrations foreign policy has taken, as signaled by the presidents recent speech on Afghanistan:
Regrettably, outside of yourself, the individuals who most embodied and represented the policies that will Make America Great Again, have been internally countered, systematically removed, or undermined in recent months. This was made patently obvious as I read the text of your speech on Afghanistan this week
The fact that those who drafted and approved the speech removed any mention of Radical Islam or radical Islamic terrorism proves that a crucial element of your presidential campaign has been lost
Just as worrying, when discussing our future actions in the region, the speech listed operational objectives without ever defining the strategic victory conditions we are fighting for. This omission should seriously disturb any national security professional, and any American who is unsatisfied with the last 16 years of disastrous policy decisions which have led to thousands of Americans killed and trillions of taxpayer dollars spent in ways that have not brought security or victory.
During his time in the Trump administration, Gorka focused on issues such as countering the Muslim Brotherhood, the crisis in Qatar, drafting a new long-term national security strategy, and combatting Chinas economic warfare. Before coming to the White House, Gorka was an editor for national security affairs for Breitbart News, where he worked with Steve Bannon, who also recently departed the administration.
Gorkas tenure at the White House was marked by unusually vociferous attacks against him and his family by left-leaning media organizations and the Democratic Party. This includes personal attacks against his wife, mother, and son.
A source close to the White House said of his decision, This was more or less going to be a done deal when Bannon submitted his resignation. Not because he didnt have a protector, but because there is no point in having your life ruined every day if youre not going to get much accomplished. The same source said that what did change after Bannon left was that anti-Bannon factions began erecting bureaucratic road blocks to undermine Gorka internally.
The Forward has written dozens of attack pieces against Gorka, including several attempting to align him with Nazism. Most recently that publication retracted a story about his sons schoolwork. Gorka strenuously objected to allegations he had ties to Nazi groups in his familys home country of Hungary, where he had previously been involved in national politics. Even detractors eventually acknowledged the Nazi accusations were unfair smears.
In his letter, Gorka made clear that he believes in the promise of the Trump presidency despite being concerned about its present direction.
Your presidency will prove to be one of the most significant events in modern American politics. November the 8th was the result of decades during which the political and media elites felt that they knew better than the people who elect them into office. They do not, and the MAGA platform allowed their voices to be heard, he wrote, adding, Millions of people believe in, and have chosen, you and your vision of Making America Great Again. They will help eventually rebalance this temporary reality.

You are not wrong we are witnessing OUR POTUS making a deal with the DEEP STATE, the DAMNED generals are generals because they are the DEEP STATE!!!
What is the JFK talk?
Some believe he was told to toe the line and not make waves or buck the system (shadow government) or he might not live long.
I believe most Republicans in Congress have been told the same thing. They can make noises and put on a face but they don’t dare cross the line.
I didn’t know that, thanks.
“That guy (Jared) is a snake if ever there was one.”
And his voice just oozes slime.
There were many conservatives who were Never Trumpers. The only idiots are the ones who remained Never Trumpers after he was elected and Cuccinelli doesn’t fall in that group.
But I didn’t need him or anyone else telling me conservatives are disappearing from the White House. A blind man can see it.
The people on FR think that (insert assistant name here) are the ones that order Trump to do anything like that. Trump is just some dope waiting for one of them to tell him what to think.
He just pardoned Sheriff Joe, and Ill bet all of them will swear it was totally at the directive of one of these guys.>>> not me any hows but he needs people to carry out his policies. when i see him say “i am going against my instincts” that means something. why are you mr president?
Gorka was NSC.
This is a McMasters hit job.
Trump is being encircled.
McMasters already took care of the Trump Loyalist..
Tillerson is an arsehole and obviously so is his little “talk person”.
I’ve never been a fan of Trumps kids staying for very long.....but I understand why they are there.
But now with Trumps key people being outed by choice or otherwise ..am not comfortable about this.
You speak for yourself and not me.
>> I hope this doesnt mean that the McMaster wing has not achieved full control that would be a disaster.
The disaster is McMaster. I suspect something really huge is going to happen within the next couple of weeks.
And I gave it to you before; wanna another dose; blind kneepadder?
Yep...I’ve seen those stories and video too.
F off. If you say Trump is making deals with deep state, you better have g-damn proof. Or face the consequences
NP we just don’t know enough of why this is happening....all any can do is speculate....but I got to say I don’t like that Demorat groups are taking the credit for these departures and waving their flags as a victory.
Something isn’t right and it’s discomforting watching this to say the least.
Gorki’s on Hannity Monday....so lets wait to see what he’s going to say......currently Bannon, Gorki and others still support Trump...so lets see.
Those of us, on the TRUMP RALLY THREADS, were using that term from day 1, when we had to fight the Cruzbots, who were just oh SO certain that twee Teddy was going to be the next president!
I am concerned about this, Gorka was a voice of reality.
Knock it off..YOU don’t know that and it’s not wise saying that you do. Too any jump the gun without knowing what’s happening with any degree of certainty.
Gorki’s on Hannity Monday.....so let’’s just see what he has to say from his own lips.
It is a good substitute for original thought. An ad hominem tool for the lazy.
No, I speak for me;never claimed to be “speaking” for anyone else...but the majority of posters, on this thread, plus ALL of the phone calls, messages, and emails I’m getting tonight, from family and friends all over this nation, are saying the same thing and more.
