I waited to write about this story because at first it seemed too insane to be true, but alas, it's come to this.
ESPN pulled Asian-American sports announcer Robert Lee from this weekend's University of Virginia vs. William & Mary football game because they were afraid he might offend people. Why? His name is too similar to Confederate General Robert E. Lee. For the record, Robert E. Lee is white and has been dead for over 100 years.
Fox Sports radio host Clay Travis broke the story earlier tonight. From Outkick The Coverage:
In a story that seems made for The Onion, but is actually true, according to multiple Outkick fans inside ESPN MSESPN decided to pull an Asian college football announcer named Robert Lee off the William and Mary at University of Virginia college football game because they were concerned that having an ASIAN FOOTBALL ANNOUNCER NAMED ROBERT LEE would be offensive to some viewers.
Did I mention that Robert Lee is Asian?
Is this even real life anymore? This might even be worse than MSESPN apologizing for the fantasy football slave draft a couple of weeks ago.
To avoid offending left wing idiots Robert Lee, the Asian college football announcer, not the Confederate General who died in 1870 and shares a name with him, was switched to the Youngstown State at Pittsburgh game and Dave Weekley will now call the William and Mary at University of Virginia game.

ESPN confirmed the decision to Travis after he wrote about it.
We collectively made the decision with Robert to switch games as the tragic events in Charlottesville were unfolding, simply because of the coincidence of his name. In that moment it felt right to all parties. Its a shame that this is even a topic of conversation and we regret that who calls play by play for a football game has become an issue," ESPN said.
Travis also went on Fox News to explain further.

The news has been confirmed by multiple outlets.

So, here we are.
It sure seems discriminatory, at a minimum, to reassign an Asian-American's job based on him having the same name as a dead white guy. But hey, if it kept a few people from getting triggered, who cares?
This has reached the absurd.
(Yes, I'm joking, but could it happen?)
The crackdown on Robert Lees, or Lee Robertses for that matter, must ensue. We will not stop until they ALL have been purged from society. Tom Jeffersons and Jefferson Thomases are next!
LOL His ancient Chinese secret is actually support for the Confederacy!
ESPN’s more famous Bob Ley (pronounced Lee) must be sweating this out.
“This has reached the absurd.”
Yes it has but is actually great news. One thing conservatives/us on the right have never done is use the left’s tendency for never stop moving forward against them. Most think just appease and they’ll stop but the problem is the left never stops they just keep on going. It’s about time this stubborness is used against them.
Much like the left voting to filibuster Gorsuch and never knowing when to quit pushing so now allowing simple majority for Trump’s judges, this latest episode demonstrates the left’s absurdity in one simple example that a thousand articles/tweets/videos never could.
Going forward expect him to announce himself as Lobelt Ree!
You know you have no basis for a rational argument when you spend time worrying about statues and names.
Are you kidding? The Generation “Buttercups” wouldn’t even know who Robert E. Lee was.
These people have no clue what they are asking for. Lets say they do get away with destroying us....who will they go after next?
Rulling masters by then will have total control over them.

This guy cut through the BS pretty quick:
Jim Barry · Bridgewater State College
Unemployment going down every month...over 1 million less people on food stamps...ISIS getting their shit kicked in on all fronts...the stock market at record highs...border crossings at their lowest in 20 years and yet all I ever see on the news is bullshit/rediculous social justice issues.
Zaclty
Yup. This would be imbecilic even if the guy were a direct descendant of Robert E. Lee. In such a case, he still should be allowed to practice his profession without reference to his ancestor. But in this case, of course, there is NO FRIGGIN’ RELATION between the current Robert Lee, sportscaster, and the General Robert E. Lee who has been dead for 147 YEARS.
The guy is ASIAN-American, for God’s sake, you stupid Libtards!!!!
