We were very lucky as a nation to be founded by well educated men that felt an obligation to mankind to lay out the reasons why they were going to war and why they chose to lay the foundations of their new nation as they did.

Anytime I'm faced with a difficult moral or political question I look up what our Founders wrote on the matter and if I disagree with their thoughts I generally go back to my own thoughts and look for the error. It's almost like having the answers to the exam right there in front of you.
