There was a documentary talking about her starting public assistance housing and the voiceover proudly said, “And some of the families still living there are direct descendants of the first residents to move in.” Wait. So, that sh*t’s permanent? They weren’t helped onto their feet and their children were then on their way?
They would also yell things like "To hell with Babe Ruth!" The Marines probably liked and admired Ruth (unless they were from Boston, maybe) but I doubt that had the impact that the Japanese soldiers thought it had.
Yeah. I used to get orders of chicken livers at Col Sanders. They would give you a huge over sized order just to get rid of them, I loved it.
