“We all believe that Ivanka and Jared are undercutting the nationalist agenda and pulling Trump left.”

I still get slammed by a few people who claim this isn’t true.

The Ivanka thing is strange.

Ivanka is clearly his favorite child. The brothers acknowledge it. He gives her significant things to do in representing the US.

So how do you still have a relationship with Bannon when he is out to take down your daughter and her husband.

It’s like that reporter on Kushners Observer site that is out to take down Trump and Kushner.

It’s going to be a weird strange time for the next few months.

I suspect Pres T will - and perhaps already has - realized that in this case his family must come second to what’s best for his policies for America.

I honestly don’t understand any of it.

He seems to see Ivanka as some kind of quasi-first lady/ambassador/women’s outreach coordinator.

And, Jared’s portfolio is bigger than any Cabinet member’s at this point. With Bannon gone, it’s possible that Jared is not the second most powerful man in the country.

So, he clearly thinks highly of their capabilities, because the two of them combined have a ton of responsibility.

At the same time, he clearly ignores them pretty regularly - particularly on social issues.

And he doesn’t seem to care that they are under pretty relentless attack from his most fervent nationalist supporters.

I don’t think there is a grand strategy here, but if there was one, it’s like he intentionally set up a lightning rod for right-wing criticism within his administration. So, when he does stuff the Breitbart crowd doesn’t like, they blame the kids.

But that seems unbelievably cynical even for Trump.

And it doesn’t fully explain the fact that Miller seems to be all that’s left of the Breitbart crowd now.

If there is some grand plan between Trump and Bannon, it would be for Bannon to leave and attack literally EVERYONE in the cabinet but spare Trump.
