Socialized medicine is bad no matter who runs it. Sweden cuts costs by running their birthing centers/midwives like a production line. Prenatal care is thru midwives, we only saw a dr one time (to get an amniocentesis test).
You had a different midwife for each prenatal visit. Whoever was next when they pull your number, just like at the BMV here. And a new midwife at the hospital that you’ve never met.
It very well may be much worse now, I’m out of the loop for these things now. At the time, it wasn’t immigration that was the cause, it was just an IKEA style of healthcare. Cheap and fragile with a prettty veneer.
They have to pull costs out wherever they can. I’m sure things are worse with immigration. Before, it was Iranians and Jordanians and the like. They are half way clean and tidy people. But now Sweden is letting in the dregs - Afgans, Algerians, “Palestinians”, Somalis.
They are really running down the medical services and the support systems are getting overloaded in general.
