To: A Navy Vet

I know several Marines in the 40 to 70+ age bracket.

They are Marines, not former Marines.

If this murderer is a former Marine, he got a less than honorable discharge.

We are on the same page, but often when speaking of a Marine vets, former Marine works depending on the context nowadays. Yes, a Marine is always a Marine because of their sense of duty. Marines are my favorite branch of service including my Navy as an Aviation Amphib sailor. Of course, my Navy no longer exists, but that's another story.

I wouldn't trade one day of a full complement aboard (LPH-11) laying about everywhere and buying up all the ship's stores for anything I've done since for Veterans. It gave me great pride to launch them off the deck in the CH 46's and 53's and be their sea-going bellhop. I've worn that label with pride since to this day.
