Trump Is Just Six Senate Votes Away From Impeachment
newsweek ^ | Aug 17, 2017 | Elaine C. Kamarck

At some point in 2019 (if not sooner) a Republican Senator may walk into the Oval Office and say to President Trump: “Mr. President, we don’t have the votes,” at which point the Trump presidency will end in a resignation or a conviction in the Senate.

This scenario actually occurred forty-three years ago this summer when Republican Senator Barry Goldwater walked into the Oval Office and told Republican President Richard Nixon that they didn’t have the votes in the Senate to save his presidency.

The house votes on impeachment, not the senate.

It’s animalistic , the way one incident spurs this psycho jihad. Mob mentality with no sense of perspective.

Was Yawley less racist last week?

And shooting politicians is the last thing they want to do.

The guys in Concord MA felt the same way in 1775.

There is no need to think about such a thing today, because the political ramifications of alienating half of the voters in the country would be overwhelming. Anyone who thinks the political process would go back to normal after a politically motivated removal of the President hasn't thought through what would be likely to happen.

If the Republican Party thinks that they have such a majority now that they can lose 63 MILLION VOTERS and still hold power...then yes, they’ll vote to Impeach Trump.

Trouble is though, they know they’d be lucky to hold on to power if they lose even 2 million voters.

So, no, this is simply WISHFUL THINKING by the Left. The Republicans in the Senate are not going to give up their seats to remove Trump...regardless of how much they hate him.

I’m not convinced that the Republican Party even prefers to hold the majority.

I think they want all of the DC perks, with the Dems doing all of the ‘dirty’ work...like passing 0CommieCare and regulations, raising taxes, etc.

Trump more than hinted in his last rally in West Virginia..”they are trying to take the leadership you voted for away”...those people looked like they were ready to kill. If they tried to pull a stunt like that, boy..it wouldnt take much from Trump to “get this party started”...it would be ugly. Plus..hes commander in chief...wow

I am convinced they don't want to be the majority......The want all the perks, none of the responsibility.

At least two of Service chiefs have been making veiled anti-Trump statements. I doubt we can count on the military, sadly.

Agree.

Just look at the Presidential campaigns (with the exception of Trump) they’ve run. TERRIBLE!!

They could write books about how NOT to win!

They had the Repeal of 0Care perfectly teed up for them, yet managed to do NOTHING!!

And, look at how they all stand on the sidelines NOT defending Trump...yet most of them couldn’t wait to defend 0zero, or certainly NEVER denounced his destructive policies....except during campaign stops.

Conservatives never fight back, even when attacked.

Sad, but true.

The GOP’s new motto should be “Not in the face!”

Secession would force people to take sides and take action, that is why I support secession. The best way to over throw Fedgov is for your state to secede from it.

I hear you...but they still want to keep their seats at an individual level - and those seats are GONE for whoever might vote for removal, and the seats of EVERY REPUBLICAN will be gone if Trump actually did get removed...so it won’t happen.

To put it another way, they are paralyzed right now regarding Trump. They DESPERATELY need to trick Trump in a way where us Trump supporters get angry with him, such as getting him to support Amnesty...but so far, Trump has only moved to the right, which is just killing them.

Until (and unless) they can somehow sever the bond between Trump and his supporters, Trump is safe. That’s why the Alt-Left keeps trying to ‘prove’ to us that Trump is a liar, such as when Trump doesn’t appear to be a hurry to have Mexico pay for it - as if we care, LOL. But the Trump haters sure claim to be bothered by Mexico not having to pay for the wall (at least not yet).

First of all, those service chiefs should be $hit caned immediately if they are making anti-Trump comments. They are unfit to serve. President Trump is their Commander in Chief.

Also, generals, admirals, etc. are political animals. If these idiots were promoted by Obama, all the more reason to be suspicious of them and their motives.

Third, I trust the junior officers and the enlisted men more than these high-ranking ass kissers.

If he gets impeached, the precedent has been set by Clinton that you just keep on going. They have to impeach AND remove you from office.

I doubt it. But, be prepared for Civil War II if they try to remove him from office, just in case. Never hurts to be prepared.

It’s an opinion piece. It’s just another tactic being used in the coup.

Impeach for what???

The Establishment heard the People loud and clear this past election. Their response is a collective middle finger.

They truly don’t give two hoots what we want. They will force their global will upon us “come hell or high water”.

This fight won’t be resolved until one side wins and purges the other side.
