Orwell had an oft-repeated statement: "In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act"
But we've gone beyond Orwell. Now conservatives are attacked for stating something backed up with months of video evidence - that AntiFa is violent and provokes most of the conflict at protests/counterprotests. So Orwell needs to be rewritten:
"In a time of liberal deceit, stating the obvious is a revolutionary act."
Orwell predicted the future, we live it.
The right believe that Orwell scribed a warning.
The left thinks it is a playbook.
“Antifa” is just the current branding of the same anarchist thugs responsible for the riots at the 2000 Democrat convention in Los Angeles , the 1999 riots in Seattle, and pre-palnned chaos of “Occupy Wall Street.”
They are the “progressive” movement’s storm-troopers and have been for going on 20 years now.
I’m reading 1984 now. Others should.
I just ordered a free copy of 1984 on my Kindle Prime acct..
Then, I will make sure to never read it in the evening or night before my bedtime.
Way Beyond Orwell?

Yep. The hysteria over this is unbelievable. Truly shows how devoid of real issues and common sense of so many Americans. Their ignorance and hatred is beyond belief
It doesn’t take rocket scientist to understand what Trump meant . .both times. To paint everyone on the “Right” side Saturday as the worst of humankind shows how biased and out of touch they are. Taking down monuments should offend most Americans, it’s part of our history. If racist snowflakes are offended, TFB. Especially in light of the many more serious issues that affect them. Not just jobs, crime, illegitimacy, but their own mental health. What kind of life awaits them when they’re so unbalanced at such an early age. Get ready for some real rude awakenings, especially when future employers see their footprints.
But let’s continue brainwashing generation of under educated, illogical, lookitme types who want their moment of “glory” What a shame the First Amendment is not respected as well as our history, bad as well as good.
The hysteria is further proof of just how deranged and sick the left is, along with its media lapdogs. The later can’t objectively cover a story with both hands, and the rush to fall over each other to try to camouflage their own prejudices is both sad and laughable.
The media is in the business of suppressing the truth and telling the public outright lies.
funny you mention orwell. yesterday i started to re-read 1984.
astounding how the guy called it. i had also forgotten how many terms we use that came from that book:
-big brother
-thought police
-two minute hate
-newspeak
my fave though are the ministries:
Ministry of Truth: news and education
Ministry of Love: law and order
Ministry of Peace: concerned itself with war
Ministry of Plenty: economics
pretty amazing book.
“antifa” is the brownshirt wing of the US national socialist-democrat party (aka: democrats).
Only the party of the KKK, BLM, NBPP, REVCOM, CPUSA, LA RAZA, jim crowe, and antifa would stoop this low with advocating the overthrow of the US and assassination of a US president.
War is Peace
Freedom is Slavery
Ignorance is Strength
party words to live by in modern times.
Orwell on destruction of history..
“He who controls the past controls the future.” 1984
Also
“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten,
every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered.
And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped.
Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right....George Orwell, “1984
I read 1984 twice. Time to read again.
I have read all of Orwell’s books. Good stuff.
The problem is that people have way too much time on their hands. When you don’t have to work or study hard in school, you fill your time with social justice battles. If there was a great depression or a major war, and people were hungry and didn’t have enough electricity to run their cell phones, the little snowflakes wouldn’t worry about statues.
I admit it.
I love Orwell.
Let's not underestimate Pres Trump. I'm sure he's got a few tweets up his sleeve. In fact, he might go /w/ the time-honored "Divide and Conquer" strategy.......and he won't even need the fierce King's Regiment to put down this uprising (as the Brits did in Kenya).
REFERENCE: (hat tip wiki) The lefty agitation in Charlottesville, and elsewhere, is reminiscent of "The Mau Mau Uprising," a military conflict that took place in British-Kenya between 1952 and 1960. It involved native-dominated groups (called Mau Mau), against white settlers and elements of the British Army.
The Mau Mau were easily defeated by the Brit's using the time-honored "divide and conquer" strategy..........gaining and maintaining power by breaking up larger concentrations of power into pieces that individually have less power than the one implementing the strategy.
The D/C concept refers to a strategy that breaks up existing power structures.......particularly preventing smaller power groups from linking up, groups that are causing rivalries, groups fomenting discord among the citizenry.
The King's Regiment in Kenya, looking fierce, heavily
armed w/ African Rifles, on the lookout for the Mau Mau.
