RUSH: Themes to todays program, the media is dividing this country and tearing it apart and because of fear of the media way too many on our side are unwilling to stop or even try to explain or oppose this. Identity politics, which we have been focusing on in recent weeks, intensely in recent days, is the primary weapon being used to divide the country. Nothing new about it, but it is reaching new heights. And what is going on is so far from reality that its tough to actually make sense of it.
mean, heres one way of looking at this. (interruption) No, Im gonna answer the agenda question. (no audio) So I ask an intriguing question, everybody wants the answer. Coming back to it. You could if you were brave and courageous. Black people and white people who were never slaves are fighting white people and others who were never Nazis over Confederate statues erected by Democrats, and somehow its all Donald Trumps fault.
That would be one brief summary. Now, that summary, if uttered to a CNN infobabe would be met with a meltdown. I watched a meltdown today. You know what happens? You know what CNN is? CNN goes out and they find some sucker Republican to accept an invitation to appear. The sucker Republican shows up and heres the interview, Do you condemn, do you condemn the white racists?
Yeah, I do. But I also condemn the violence on the left.
You think theres violence on the left? Youre a racist! You think theres violence on the left? Youre a pig. Do you condemn the white nationalists? Do you condemn the Nazis?
Yeah, yeah, I condemn it all. I condemn violence by everybody committing it, including the Antifa.
You think theres violence on the left? Thats outrageous. Thats racist. Do you condemn? Thats what its become, folks, do you condemn, will you condemn. What underlies that is for way, way too long there has been this assumption that has been allowed to settle in, that conservatives and Republicans are racists. Its an insulting question. It ought to be met with derision. Do you condemn racist violence? What kind of question is that? Who do you know that supports it, folks? And yet by virtue of asking the question, the intention is to brand and characterize whoever it is youre asking that question, do you condemn, as though we dont know. As though it may be up for grabs.
We dont know if Republican Congressman X or Republican Senator X actually condemns white racism, actually condemns Nazis. But of course the question is never asked of the left, Do you condemn Black Lives Matter and the murder of five cops in Dallas? Do you condemn Black Lives Matter in the tearing up of Ferguson and Baltimore? You cant ask that. Why? Well, because the assumption is that all of that action is entitled.
All of that destruction, including the violence against cops, why, thats understandable. Why, these people are victims, and they are simply addressing their grievances, and we must understand. Meanwhile, Do you condemn the KKK? And it never ends. And thats what CNN has become.
Now, the answer to the question, Do you remember what the agenda was going into the summer? Yeah. It was tax reform, primarily. Guess whats not the agenda right now? Tax reform. Guess what else is not the agenda right now? Repealing and replacing Obamacare. Guess what else isnt the agenda in practically everything that Trump was elected to do. You think these things are mutually exclusive or coincidental? I do not.
If you go to the Drudge Report let me turn to the right so I can have the Drudge Report in my eyes here tax reform impossible, with a question mark after it. Its a question somewhere, CNBC, I dont know where it is, I dont remember the link. Doesnt matter. If theres one story, theres 10. Tax reform impossible? You know why? Why is it impossible? Well, because nothing can happen with Republican votes alone in the Senate. The Republicans are going to need some Democrats, and thats just not possible. Exactly.
Advancing the economic plight, advancing the economy, advancing improving economic circumstances for America will not get any Democrat votes. Exactly right. Except it wont be portrayed that way. No, the reason why the Republicans wont get any votes is because theyre so racist. They wont condemn the KKK, and they wont this condemn the Nazis, and they wont condemn the white supremacists. Even though they do, and even though the president did, multiple times, its as though the condemnations never happened.
The questions continue to be asked, and as such, the Republicans have no brand. They have no credibility. They cant get anything in their agenda done because they wont condemn whatever went on in Charlottesville, or because they wish to condemn also the violence perpetrated by Black Lives Matter and the anarchists and the Antifa people and so forth. Which, if you do that, CNN and others just jump right down your throat as though youre a bigot and a racist for daring to point out that the violence everywhere in this country often starts by people on the left. And not only is the violence in this country often started by people on the left, they are the sole practitioners of the violence in 99% of protests.
Ninety-nine percent of protests you dont even see the Republicans showing up. Its a relatively new phenomenon that opposition to the left is showing up at protests. But it still isnt mainstream Republicans showing up. They just dont do it. And it isnt mainstream conservatives showing up to protests. You disagree with the premise, 99% of all violent protests and riots in this country start and are engineered and practiced by the left? Its inarguable. And yet, Do you condemn Black Lives Matter? Do you condemn the Nazis? Do you condemn racism? Do you condemn the KKK?
Now, look at the stories that follow this today from TheHill.com: GOP Fears Damage to Brand from Charlottesville Republicans worry that their candidates could pay in the 2018 midterms for the continued controversy over President Trumps remarks on the deadly violence in Charlottesville, Va.
What did Trump say? We went through it line by line yesterday. We went through everything Trump said, in the controversial Monday press conference, or Tuesday, whatever day it was. I thought all day yesterday was Tuesday. I find out today is Thursday, so somewhere in this mix I lost a day. So whatever day that Trump went to Trump Tower to do his press conference, we went through that line by line. And because he said there was violence committed by both sides and because he said there are fine people on both sides, hysteria.
It was a genuine unhinged hysteria from all over the place, in the Drive-By Media and in Washington. And however the media goes is how the Republican Party is gonna go. Lets look at these CEOs, for example. These CEOs make a big show out of leaving Trumps two CEO committees or panels, whatever theyre called, but theyre not gonna stop working with Trump. This is all for show. This is all to get the headlines and photo-ops. Look at this brave CEO telling Trump to put it where the sun dont shine. And that CEO, he just told Trump what-for. And theyre being applauded by people all over. Theyre gonna continue to work with the Trump administration cause Gary Cohn, whos one of Trumps guys, is a Goldman Sachs guy, and they like each other, and theyve got an agenda.
These CEOs are not leaving the Trump administration, and theyre not abandoning their opportunity to influence it. They just make this big show out of doing so in order to gain PR credibility or whatever. But theyre still gonna be on the phone calls and theyll still be talking to all of these people in the administration, because thats what CEOs do. CEOs now, rather than compete against competitors, CEOs try to get tight with people in government. Its called cronyism. Theyre not gonna abandon that.
Theyre not gonna abandon the opportunity to have a close relationship with powerful people in the administration. But theyll make a big show out of abandoning the Trumpster and get all kinds of great PR credit for it. Republican Party the same. Media goes crazy on Trump, Republicans say, Oh, God, there goes our brand. Oh, jeez. Were never gonna win again. And they abandon Trump publicly. But in their case, they really do. They then go silent. And there isnt any push-back against any of this, and the problem there is the push-back is not just against Trump.
What the media is doing is not just to Trump. Theyre dividing the country, and they are smearing everybody who is not a left-winger or a Democrat or an activist. Theyre smearing everybody. Theyre smearing talk radio. Theyre smearing people that voted for Trump. They are smearing elected Republicans, Republican staff, doesnt matter where they are, everybodys being smeared here. You know, whats really happening?
Let me go back to this headline here. GOP Fears Damage to Brand from Charlottesville, and heres the lead. Republicans worry that their candidates could pay in the 2018 midterms for the continued controversy over President Trumps remarks on the deadly violence in Charlottesville, Va. Trumps equivocation on how much blame should be put on white supremacist groups for the violence sets up a challenge thats difficult for Republican candidates to avoid and one that Democrats are eager to bring up.
There wasnt any equivocation! Sorry for yelling. Another big media lie. There wasnt any equivocation. Trump said there was violence on both sides, which happens to be the truth. Ninety percent of the violence in protests and in riots in this country is committed by the left. Its committed by Occupy Wall Street. Its committed by Black Lives Matter. Its on videotape. Its not even arguable. And yet were now being asked to believe that there isnt any violence on the left.

Let me go back to this headline here. GOP Fears Damage to Brand from Charlottesville, and heres the lead. Its not even arguable. And yet were now being asked to believe that there isnt any violence on the left.
Dana Milbank today in the Washington Post was talking about the whole issue of tearing down the monuments. He says, Its not a tough debate. There are Nazis, and there are the rest of us. Wrong! Its not, There are Nazis, and the rest of us. There are Nazis, and were not through naming people on the left. There are communists. There are racists. There are terrorists. Theres Black Lives Matter. Theres Occupy Wall Street.
Theres all kinds of people who are not us on the left, except they are the left. Milbank misses it. They are the left. What it really is, folks, its not [t]here are Nazis, and the rest of us. There is the media and the Democrats and their associated hate groups and the rest of us. That is the characterization. So here comes this story about the Republicans fearing damage to the brand. Republican campaign chiefs raced to distance themselves from Trumps decision not to single out white supremacists
He did single em out! He singled em out in the second press conference on this. (laughing) He did! But the media didnt let him get away with it. The media said, You didnt mean it! Youre only doing it because we shamed you into doing it. So youre not gonna get any credit from us! You didnt mean it, it isnt in your heart, so it doesnt count. So Trump went out and did a third press conference in total frustration. Okay, screw you! You want to know whats up? Heres the deal, and he unloaded, and everybody had a cow.
If I may be bold here, if I may be helpful, Republicans, the idea here that you fear damage to your brand? Youre about 30 years late in realizing this, and the reason that you have ongoing fear of your brand is that for the first time it somebodys fighting back against these allegations, and thats whats making you nervous. Youll note that its Donald Trump fighting back against all this thats really what makes the Republicans nervous. The Republicans have never pushed back on this. You know it as well as I do, especially you who have voted for them based on their promises to push back, to fight back.
They never do!
For 30 years, the Democrats have been able to call Republicans anything with impunity racist, bigot, sexist, homophobe, and add on to that and theres been never any pushback. All there is, is Republicans trying to kiss up to the media so that they individually are not included in the smear. Well, this is what pushing back looks like, just like this is what trying to strip power away from the establishment looks like.
This is what it looks like when you push back. It was never gonna be easy, and it was never gonna be pretty. Somebody is trying to save the Republican brand by defending it against all of these smears: Racism, sexism, bigotry, homophobia. Too many Republicans have been conditioned to go along with the allegation and to ask for exemption from it.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Im really struck by Republicans fear damage to their brand. Have they missed the assault on their brand the last 30 years? (snorts)
So what else is new? The GOP is the stealth Enemy Within.
The GOP is dead. The conservative Americans who no longer support them are alive and thriving.
They never do!
El Rushbo nails it.
Political and moral cowards=GOP. They stand for nothing until the democrats/media tells them what they should stand for, until then they dither about like a bunch of pantywaists scared of their own shadows.
Compare and Contrast with the GOPs reaction to Reagan’s controversial trip to Bitburg.
GOP ,The Ball Less Party
The stupid surrender monkeys in the GOP are idiots. First they’re coming for Trump. Then they’ll go after Pence. And look out Mr Third in Line Ryan cause they’ll go after you too. If Trump goes, the GOP is finished. After the way he and his voters have been treated, I doubt any of us will ever cast another voter for the cowardly party.
The MSM, with the backing of the socialist-democrat party, are actively trying to foment another US civil war.
What these elements don’t realize, or think that they might remain unharmed if this came to pass, is that all of these people are at the top of the list. The MSM and their enablers will literally be target number one.
I won’t be voting for anyone who hasn’t helped the president.
Hey!
My US Congressman John Carter is very busy.
He has to start early getting those yard signs printed.
Putting them all on wooden stakes, well that is a job!
Which is why a lot of people started calling them "cucks." (abbreviation for Cuckold, meaning a man who is being cuckolded by another man)
They don't stand for anything with any real passion, other than getting very angry at their supporters when people try to make them fight back against the Democrats.
The GOP is essentially a party supported and run by corporate lobbyists. Anything else is unimportant.
One only has to look at their inaction for the last year with both houses and Trump as president.
No they aren't. They aren't that bright. They may be fomenting one, but it's not because they think that's gonna happen, it's because they are too stupid and too much in their own social bubble to realize thatTHAT IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN.
They aren't "trying", they are doing it because they are too stupid to realize that they are doing it.
What these elements dont realize, or think that they might remain unharmed if this came to pass, is that all of these people are at the top of the list. The MSM and their enablers will literally be target number one.
Just as the children and wives of the wealthy aristocrats in France didn't realize when they supported the revolution that they would be consumed by the forces they had unleashed, so too do these modern social "elites" not realize they will be consumed by the forces they unleash.
Agreed
I think a lot of us would settle for the GOP “standing aside”.
Even though they promised great things if only we gave them the keys.
Instead the GOP’s `leading lights’ jump on the `rat bandwagon and badmouth President Trump at every opportunity.
Trump says all sides share blame? Though only one side was masked, throwing bricks and balloons filled with their own urine and feces, like zoo chimps. He was being charitable, the Un-Obama. But they say he was wrong in not condemning only those permitted to be there, assembling peaceably.
Today. A while back he warned about more Islamic terror in Europe. Their reaction? He was being (drum roll plz) “Islamophobic”. He wants to vet refugees? He’s a racist. He does what every other president has done? He’s a bigot.
The GOP-e is worse than useless. Primary them.
President Trump will carry the fight alone.
[After the way he and his voters have been treated, I doubt any of us will ever cast another voter for the cowardly party.]
The GOP was for the “big tent” until it elected Trump on them.
