Perhaps the only solution for Spain and the rest of the EU is to break into city states to protect themselves, much as what happened after the Roman Empire collapsed and over time local governing entities protected their territory. That way, at least some parts of Europe might survive and preserve the accomplishments of Western Civilization.
Europe may not have the desire to survive. As long as they have their 30-day annual vacation everything is honky-dory.
