Study what General Pershing of the United States did to terrorists when caught. There was no more Radical Islamic Terror for 35 years!

Shep said this was crap.
I wouldn’t be surprised. How was Pershing involved with Moslems?
Trump needs to STHU. Completely unprofessional and this shows why.
He needs to stop this juvenile crap of playing on his mini-tablet all the time and STHU. All he ends up doing is put foot in mouth, and have his supposed comm team scrambling.
Kelly needs to take the phone away from him again.
Wait a minute.
This is the tweet:
“Study what General Pershing of the United States did to terrorists when caught. There was no more Radical Islamic Terror for 35 years!”
I fail to see where this statement is debunked? He did site the killing and burying them with pigs in 2016, but he doesn’t say this here, he simply says study what Pershing did.
The lesson starts at 1:13
Trump mentioned the Pershing and pigs in a 2016 rally. It sounds like some of his men indeed did do this to those that killed Americans, but in his tweet, he says: “Study what Pershing did to Muslim.” He doesn’t bring up the pig thing again.
I agree. I’m praying for him constantly after media and RINOs attacked him needlessly for Charlotte. I normally love his tweets, but this one is not helpful.
Yes, I agree. It gives me a pit in my stomach. I think it’s in the after math again of the terrorist attack in Barcelona.
Huh? My God, the whole thing is about how wrong it must be!
Pershing would do things like hang pigs above the open graves of Muslim terrorists, then slice open the necks and guts of the pigs, and let the blood and entrails fall into the graves of these Muslim terrorists. He would then bury the pig with them.
The messages is that these terrorists will go straight to hell because Allah will not accept men tainted with the blood of this unclean animal.
It stopped the Muslim "Jihad" dead in it's tracks.
I have read that Pershing had the dead Muslims wrapped in a pig’s skin and then buried, letting the last prisoner go to tell the tale.
Sounds grisly, but evidently effective.
Check your history, Pershing ran into the Moros while fighting in the Philippines during Spanish American war (1898) They were muslim, you still hear about muslim rebels causing trouble in Philippines, taking hostages and killing.
That run in was why we developed the 1911 pistol .45 ACP the
current .38 pistol was ineffective, Army reissued old SAA Colt 45 pistol (cowboy type single action revolvers) as a stopgap
I don't know where people get this idea. It was a year or so ago I read an article that purported to be from a diary during that time period that detailed some of the tactics used by the forces under General Pershing's command.
The point of the article was that evidence had been discovered that corroborated the "legend." I wish I had saved it, but I didn't realize at the time that it was being contested.
Yeah, thanks, I’m just going on my cursory knowledge of history. Didn’t think about Filipinos, although just how many were Moslem?
Anyway, it looks like the premise was debunked. No evidence of that particular story, and only 1 personal account of something kinda similar.
Debunked.
Trump says check out what Pershing did to terrorists.
What, dropped 1 guy in a pig bath? On the word of 1 man decades later?
Big deal.
Point is Trump is a loose cannon, who needs to stop undermining his communication teams.
And this quote from the Washington Post does not constitute corraboration?
But the only historical evidence that something like this actually happened appears to come from a letter written by a soldier who served in the Philippines."Mr. C.C. Booth of Dallas, Texas, who served in Mindanao under Pershing, recalls seeing him hang a Moro chieftain by the heels over an open grave, kill a pig, and then drop the Moro into the grave with the bloody animal,"
The story may have been exaggerated in the retelling of it, but that one account corroborates that the tactic was in fact used.
