The president tweeted out this morning.
“Sad to see the history and culture of our great country being ripped apart with the removal of our beautiful statues and monuments. You can’t change history, but you can learn from it.
Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson - who’s next, Washington, Jefferson? So foolish! Also the beauty that’s being taken out of our cities, towns and parks will be greatly missed and never able to be comparably replaced.”
It’s so refreshing to see a man with common sense as president. We are not ISIS and we’re not the old Soviet Union. We don’t smash and tear down symbols of our history, good or bad. To hell with his haters, which is the liberal media and the worthless republicans that hate him. The people elected Donald J. Trump. A man of the people, who does not cower down to the politically-correct elites. He speaks common sense and that’s why if the election were held today he would win again. Amen.
Yes, agreed. He made some good points, also, not only about politics, but about beautiful things being taken away. The statue they destroyed in Durham the other day - ironically, a peace monument - was very beautiful, and some of the equestrian statues of generals, etc. Are also very striking.
