They've been wanting this for long before that.
I remember reading a student editorial in the school rag back when I was in university written by a rabid hate-filled student who was eager for the race wars to start. That was back in the 90s. I think there were shades of it in the 60s, too.
"Shades of it", nothing.
There was full blown violence in cities of all sizes in 1968 and 1969. I was in upper elementary school then and it touched (and torched) my small city.
