ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) _ A man convicted of taking part as a teenager in deadly sniper attacks that terrorized the Washington area has lost a bid for a new sentence in Maryland.
Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Robert Greenberg said in a ruling dated Tuesday that Lee Boyd Malvos physical, mental and emotional state and the influence of John Allen Muhammad was given full consideration before he was sentenced to life without parole for six counts of first-degree murder.
Malvo was convicted in Maryland, and in Virginia, of playing a role when he was 17 in the 2002 shootings that killed 10 people and wounded three.

The cops told the ex-wife:
“This was all about your CUSTODY battle. He was a muslim but all the murders were supposed to preceed YOUR killing so that he wouldn’t be a suspect. Your death would be just one of many performed by a ‘serial killer’”.

The younger perp very nearly managed to escape from the cops. You won’t believe the story; He was alone in a locked interrogation room that really did feature push-up drywall paneling. He did climb up there and then did enter an air duct. He was allllmost out of the building when they finally caught him.
Wow, that is so weird, so the whole serial killing sequence was set up to cover for ONE planned murder?? But they didn’t manage to pull off that one?
There is an Agatha Christie (Hercule Poirot) mystery along those lines, where it is set up to look like random serial killings to cover for one planned, motivated murder. Of course, Poirot solves the case!
I remember reading a mystery (maybe by Agatha Christie?) in which the murderer had the exact same idea. Hide the murder by bracketing it with other, unrelated murders.
May he rot in prison.
I if Barack (if I had a son)Obama was still pResident the black murder would be walking the streets today.
Yes, my last comment referred to that (we cross-posted). It was the “ABC Murders” IIRC. It also had a patsy set up to be arrested as the supposed serial killer. Well there WAS a serial killer, but it all turned out to center around one particular murder.
Mmmm...I only know what the ex-wife said on the radio in a really amazing interview.
It shocked me that her detail would not be featured in any news about that time; I remember it clear as a bell, all of greater DC was electrified by the shootings.
I remember they ended up caught by some alert Joe Six-Pack guy who saw their car after one of the shootings; all the King’s Horses and Men in the end were barely worth a hill of beans.
Apparently having watched too many episodes of the A-Team, the cops been stopping “scary white utility vans” driven by white guys for WEEKS, with no bad guy arrests, obviously.
The part about the near-escape from the interrogation room I read about maybe 6 or 7 years after the killings.
Sort of a similar idea to “Strangers on a Train.”
Wasn’t/isn’t Malvo an illegal alien????
That is similar to the plot of the first Jack Reacher movie.
Both he and his mother were. She was deported back to Jamaica. He's currently not going anywhere.
There are very few murderers who deserve anything less than life without parole. Malvo is not one of them.
Justice: The POS should’ve been dead long ago.
I was hoping Virginia got the first shot at him. They have the death penalty and the shortest time from sentencing to execution.
But in a way worse. In Strangers, both murders were for a reason. The triggermen were to be swapped. In the Malvo idea, random people were killed to hide the single intended murder. Somehow, that’s creepier.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
