There is a new push to change the name of a Boston landmark due to its ties to slavery.
At a press conference with Boston religious leaders Wednesday, Kevin Peterson, of the New Democracy Coalition, said Faneuil Hall should be renamed.
Peterson said Peter Faneuil shouldn’t be memorialized on one of Boston’s historic sites because he was a slave owner and trader. Faneuil was a wealthy man who donated the building to the city of Boston right before his death in 1743.
The building took two years to construct and was named for Faneuil after his death.
Peterson suggested the building should be renamed after Crispus Attucks, who was killed in the Boston Massacre and is widely considered the first American killed in the American Revolution.
Peterson’s comments came after religious leaders and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh held a prayer service for peace after white nationalists and counterprotesters clashed in Charlottesville,Virginia over the weekend.
A young woman, Heather Heyer, was killed and a dozen more were injured when a car plowed through a crowd of counterprotesters.
Let’s all re-write history.

Yeah. That’s going to happen Boston. This article made me laugh out loud. I don’t think the author thought he was writing comedy.

What about everything named in "honor" of KKK BYRD? Or Gore Sr., who was one gigantic RACIST? And on and on and on.....!
Given the current mood of the nation’s liberals I would bet it comes to pass..........................
Just raze the place and be done with it.
Burn it down. In fact, burn the whole state down, but be sure the residents are included in the conflagration.
There is also a Faneuil Square and a Faneuil Street and a Faneuil Branch library.

It would be a much more effective step to give it all back to the family, so the protestors can make their lives miserable as well. Protesting a guy who has been dead for 270 years seems so..... easy
