Rudy Giuliani was rushed to emergency surgery on Sunday after his right leg gave way on the first day of his vacation on Long Island.
Talking about his quadriceps tendon surgery, the former mayor exclusively told Page Six from his hospital bed, I was a catcher from a very young age, and I have suffered with catchers knee for years, and the doctors said it would deteriorate.
Then my knee gave way when I was walking on Sunday . . . I tried to get up but [my wife] Judith ordered me not to move. If it hadnt been for her, the injury would have been a lot worse. I now call her Nurse Nancy. I swear to God, it was my first day of vacation and wed planned to play a lot of golf. I dont think I will be playing golf for a few weeks. But I am already up and limping around. Im a tough guy, so this isnt going to stop me.

Oh that’s tough..... both of my elderly parents struggled a lot with falls in recent years.... aging can be so difficult. Now my father is gone and my mom (88 yrs) is confined entirely to a wheelchair. But it sounds like Rudy should have good mobility prospects still, after some rehab!!
Wishing him well. He’s a smart and brave man. We were lucky to have him around to help us get through 9-11.
Rooty! Rooty! Rooty!
Prayers for Rudy

No...he’s just not a media hog. Never has been.
He tore his quadricept tendons in his leg. These attach to the knee. . I did this two years ago. They reattach the tendons by drilling holes thru the knee and joining the bottom tendon with the top tendon via wires. You can’t bend your knee for several weeks after the surgery. They put this big ol brace on your leg from the hip to the ankle. (It is like sleeping on a bicycle.) after several weeks there’s a dial that allows 15 percent, 30 percent etc of bend. Then there’s p.t. It’s a long process but most people do ok if they follow orders. This is different than a knee replacement.
Prayers for him.
Cheers, Rudy! Get well soon!
