During a Tuesday press conference, Seattle Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin was of course asked about his teammate, Michael Bennett, and Bennetts decision to sit during the national anthem.
*snip*
...I look in the stands at some of our games, both home and away, and I see people that are drunk with their hats still on, yelling. How come you guys arent talking to them? How come theres not a discussion about them?

Well, Doug, as my mom was often fond of saying - “Two wrongs don’t make a right!”
I am usually given one or two tickets to an NFL games each season.
Lots of folks fail to remove their hats.
I don’t think I have ever seem a person purposely sit down during the national anthem.
As for people in the beer line, many are only concerned about getting that beer.
That was not an intelligent thing to ask out loud.
Come on, Doug. You really can’t figure it out?
You guys are performers. You are being paid to play ball and entertain us with shows of athleticism and teamwork.
The majority of Americans also prefer seeing our top dollar Sports performers show a little patriotism every so often.
Sports performers are held to a different standard than movie or music stars. Possible because Sports performers more closely resemble scenes of military force. This country would never have been formed or would never have remain together without military force.
Maybe Doug needs a lesson in economics.
His multi-million dollar salary is paid by broadcast rights.
Maybe he prefers playing ball for 50-100k instead of millions.
“How would he know that the ungrateful and ignorant slobs in the stands who are disrespectful during the playing of our National Anthem are the ones that condemn bennett?”
He did to say that ALL of the fans that fail to remove their caps are also critical of Kaepernick, he said that SOME of the fans that have criticized players not standing for the national anthem do not remove their caps.
He is probably correct.
“Possible because Sports performers more closely resemble scenes of military force.”
Please do not compare some dude that plays a game for a living, to a man that puts his life on the line so that you and I can keep living.
He’s right, the idiots in the stands should be respectful, too....Thing is, Mr. Baldwin, the people you are pointing out more often than not are people who share your voting habits.
BTW, you racist idiots in the NFL had better wise up: If you get your wish and drive white people away from your deteriorating game, the league will fail.
The drunks are the ones paying this idiot’s salary. I’m so sick of these fools.
Those fans who curse and wear hats are the ones helping to put money in the NFL’s pockets.
Screw them.
Let them get real jobs.
Boycott the NFL.
Seahawks Doug Baldwin wonders why sitting for anthem is bad when fans curse, yell and wear hats
Seahawks?? What is that? Must be a remnant from what was once the NFL.
NFL .. Not For Long .. Noodles For Lunch ..
Not Ready for Prime Time
The difference is that the fans are paying for their tickets.
The players are being paid to play the game and put on a show.
If the fans decide they don't like what they are seeing, the league and the players are out of luck. If the league and the players don't like the fans they can either get new ones or go out of business.
It is the classic customer - supplier relationship.
Is Baldwin really that stupid? The fans should not be doing that either, but they only represent themselves and are not trying to make a political statement. Kaperdick and Bennet on the other hand represent two organizations, their team and the NFL, not just themselves. In addition, they are using a commercial/sporting event for political purposes to push their political agenda. But, I guess Baldwin is too stupid to understand the difference.
Because you and some of your football playing peers are choosing to intentionally disrespect the anthem, flag, and country you da.
