I just checked wikipedia and the median household income of Vietnamese immigrants is higher than the US average. We’re talking about an immigrant group many of whom arrived here very poor and with zero language skills just a few decades ago.
I’ll bet this Tran character would be miffed if you pointed this apparent lack of oppression. She’s probably rebelling against patriotic, strongly anti-communist parents who appreciate America their adopted country.
